I've been here quite a few times and each time I go, I'm disappointed. I once ordered a salad with panchetta, asparagus and a taragon sauce. A very strange tasting meal. The panchetta was so crispy it crumbled and tasted of burnt, and there wasn't a single piece of asparagus on my plate. Generally the food is ok, but nothing special for the price you pay. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, however, overhearing crude conversations from the kitchen puts you off your food. That said, it's conveniently situated and for pub grub there isn't much competition in Epping -
