    We were so delighted to find a fairly authentic German restaurant so close. The atmosphere and decor is true to the German style and the staff are very pleasant and nice. They've been able to fit us in even on a busy night. The food is quite lovely with some very nice chutney/relish accompaniment for some of the dishes. They have a very respectable selection of beers and you can't go past the fresh pretzels. And as a bonus, Broadway Shopping Centre has three hours of free parking just a short five minutes walk away.

    I dare say this beats Una's for great service and food! It's authentically German and the portions are massive - the chicken schnitzel with rosti and cabbage salad is a must, though it's a struggle to conquer. There's a wide range of beers but it was the Kinderbier that won me over, a German malt beverage for non-drinkers. The waiters/waitresses are genuinely lovely, very fast to take your order and serve food. All in all, this is one of the best places to get your German food fix.

    Fantastic good, beer and atmosphere, not to mention the service which is top-notch. The servings are ridiculously large, but so authentic and very German. They also had a nice tap beer from Dortmund and the wine list is surprisingly unique. To top it off, the deserts are fantastic and go down well with a nice apple or pear schnapp. I recommend this restaurant to any cultured Sydneysider with any taste in great good.

    I reluctantly went here after it changed from Una's to Essen (We had a horrible experience when it had been Una's - rude staff and mediocre food) and so glad we gave it another chance. The food is so authentic and generous portions - not for the diet conscious but great for sharing. The service is like being welcomed into someone's house - sincere and honest advice. And the owner regularly comes out to inquire about the satisfaction of our meals.

    We now make this place a regular treat for out of town guests.
