ET's Hotel in Prahan is an upmarket pub decked out with red walls and cream leather seats. Seating options include the dinning tables, lounges or the intimate courtyard with its  Balinese water feature. The food is Australian pub fare with classics such as grilled burgers and pastas, and special meal nights such as Monday's $10 parma. They also do gourmet canapes and tapas.

I visit ET's every second Tuesday evening to attend a poetry reading, and from all I've seen, it is a quality establishment. The bar staff are friendly and attentive; they greet regulars as they come in, and never leave patrons waiting too long to buy drinks. The food is not all cheap, but there is a good range to choose from - the servings are generous and the standards are high. ET's is clean, comfortable and spacious, and the beer garden - entirely undercover - is cosy and peaceful. Best of all, they welcome open-mic poetry and various other events in their function room upstairs. I will certainly return, and encourage everyone to do likewise.
