This is the second time I have ordered delivery from here, and once again the food was delivered barely warm. This time they also didn't deliver my order correctly, and when I phoned to say there was an item missing I was treated rudely and there was no apology. Whilst trying to make a complaint, and said how the food was cold, I was told that the longer I stayed on the phone the colder my missing item is going to get as well. I was then hung up on. The food is nothing special, and the place definitely doesn't deserve the business. In the words of the management to me on the phone - "This is Australia, We are here to run a business and make money, not give away free things".

We have a joke in our household and it goes something like this....
" Do u feel like being snobbed tonight???" It refers to the Everest Indian Restaurant in Fairfield... and its such a shame because we have a thing for their chicken korma. The food is mostly wonderful, yet time and again we have been horrified at the level of customer service here. We miss the korma but not the awful embarrassment one feels when one is treated in such a way.. Mind you, to be fair, it is the management who acts in this way, the rest of the staff are generally quite lovely and at times obviously painfully aware of how the management is rude.... such a shame.

We only ever get home delivered from here and it is very consistent. I have given up on meat curries from here as the meat is full of fat. The veggie ones are great though

Lively atmosphere in this restaurant as it is usually quite busy. Food is good but quite expensive for what you get. There is a wine bar attached to it that is good to have a drink in before eating.

There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Melbourne. So what makes me choose one over the other?
Apart from good authentic Indian cuisine, I appreciate customer service and staff decorum.
Everest is not very different from your average suburban Indian joint. Average food, average ambiance and below average customer service. Twice I've been to this place and twice I've been treated with very indifferent staff. There is none of the warm, welcomed feeling one looks forward to when eating out.
Amongst other dishes, we ordered a Palak Paneer and it was the worst I've ever tasted. The cottage cheese would pass for pieces of rubber and the sauce had just too much chili in it. When i informed the staff of this, they simply took the dish away(obviously without apologies or smiles) and brought a replacement after a good 15 minutes.
I would never go there again.
