Fernvale vet surgery have been absolutely fantastic. Our 6 and 1/2 year old sharpei has had numerous problems over the last couple of years and the calm, practical approach taken at Fernvale far outweighs any other vet we have ever seen with our dog. They have been absolutely fantastic. We live an hour away and I will not take our dog anywhere else. Can absolutely recommend them on the basis of my experience there.

Last week I had to put my beautiful beagle down. She was suffering from Advanced Lymphoma. It was a truly horrific experience for me, as I had had her for 14 years. The vet and staff at the Fernvale Vet Surgery were wonderful. They were so supportive and accommodating, they were extrememly sensitive to my needs and that of my dog and made a terrible experience a little more bearable. Thank you for your professionalism and caring attitude during this time.

When my pup was dying from parvo, my mum called the vets asking what to do. They offered to put him down in the car? HOW INCONSIDERATE? Then when mum said we didn't have a car,and the staff was being all rude. Seriously, they were horrible. Mum asked if someone could come over to our house and do it. It would only have been a short drive for them and we couldn't have gotten there. They were rude again, and mum was in tears because her 17 week old dog was dying painfully as she spoke. If you have a choice, don't go there! The service is terrible and from other reviews, they seem terrible!

  Well i guess you should have had your pup vaccinated then you wouldnt have had to watch it die a horrible death

  Regardless of vaccination status dogs can still be infected with parvovirus. Having said this, if the dog never made it to the vet surgery in the first place it is incorrect to assume the puppy had parvovirus. A more appropriate term would be, "Haemorrhagic gastroenteritis of undiagnosed aetiology".
  
  There are many reasons for vaccine failure - maternal antibodies is one of these. Some dogs don't lose their maternal antibodies until they are 16 weeks old, and the incubation period for parvovirus is between 3 and 7 days, hence this puppy could have been infected prior to its final vaccination due date of 16 weeks. Please be nice on these forums, and please be fair on these forums, they are for all to enjoy :-)

i took my dog to fernvale vet clinic for a caesarean, was quoted between $700 and $1200 depending on the amount of pups, she had 3 pups they had the dog for 2 hours ,the final bill came to $1100,i was shocked and dumbfounded by the price as i previously lived in stanthorpe and i had a caesarean done at stanthorpe for 7 pups and the price came to $890 and also had a caesarean done at tenterfield vet for 9 puppies for the price of $750.when i arrived to pick up the dog she was locked in a small kennel with a big chain that tight around her neck i had a hell of a job trying to remove the big heavy chain.the pups were locked away in another room my dog was crying and that stressed out because of these vets ,why a big chain around her neck when she is in a kennel and recovering from surgery.she is now finding it hard to bond with her pups because they were locked away in another room.and when i questioned the price they were rude and told me it came under the quote so what are you complaing for ,i certainly will not be using these vets again, and i urge anyone who cares deeply for there animals DONT USE FERNVALE VET CLINIC.THEY ARE OVER PRICED AND DONT CARE DEEPLY ENOUGH FOR THE ANIMALS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY, WARNING PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM FERNVALE VETS USE ANOTHER VET, GO TO FERNVALE AT YOUR OWN RISK

  follow up to my dogs horrific experience with fernvale vet clinic,she is only just starting to bond with the pups, and 48 hours later she is passing afterbirths,they should have been removed with the surgery,the blood and gunk she is losing is terrible ,you would expect that for a natural birth, not a caesarean,this has truly been my worst experience with any vet ever and i have 22 years experience with dogs.truly horrible job.
