Located in Neutral Bay, Firefly has the sort of 'cool' you'd be more likely to find but with a more relaxed vibe and an airy opennes bars in the city just can't provide.

You'll find a large selection of drinks across the board from wine, beer, spirits to cocktails.

One of the first cool and groovy joints to open up in neutral bay when there were few other options around apart from the oaks. It has a great cosy atmosphere with an extensive wine list and lots of snacky / tapas like options on the menu which are great if you don't a full on meal. And the staff behind the bar appear to be quite well educated on wines so are helpful in recommending appropriate options when you're not sure what you want to drink. They don't take bookings so sometimes it can take a while to get a table. Major criticism though is cost - the wines are very pricey and they don't have many choices by the glass - so your stuck paying for expensive wines.

Service is swift at this northside sibling of the harbourside bar and the staff know what they're talking about.

YOU can tell a lot about a bar from its staff, its drinks and its decor. But sometimes it's the location that speaks loudest. Firefly is in Neutral Bay, not exactly the epicentre of hip but hardly an uncivilised outpost either. Late in the afternoon, it's bustling with business people of all ages, stylish young women and a smattering of more mature types with unmoving hairstyles and imposing sunglasses. The clientele at Firefly, the northside sister of the similarly titled tapas and wine bar at Walsh Bay, features all these people and, for a bar, that is no mean feat.
