I am a coeliac and missed eating fish and chips until I came across this place. I have been here at least five times in the last 4 months and have not been disappointed at all. My fish and chip order only cost $1 dollar more than the norm, as I had my fish with gf breadcrumbs. They cook gluten free in a separate fryer, but I still always ask how it is cooked, just to make sure it will be gluten free!
Great food ,new manager has really turned things around, fish is so fresh and cooked so well ,I went their a couple of years ago and said would not go back, till some one said f on f was under new management so we gave it another go so pleased we did, service was great a bit of a wait but it was very busy, well worth the wait so fresh.
I had been told that Fish on Flinders had a gluten free menu. As a coeliac I expected to pay more than usual, but was very disappointed with the very poor value for money that this restaurant offered. The serves dished were not comparable to those displayed and the food was of an incredibly poor quality. We waited 30 minutes to receive our order while eat in customers served long after us were served their meals. Overall, this was the most disappointing fast food experience I have had. Unfortunately, I think restaurants think if they are offering a gluten free menu they are already ahead of the game and it doesn't matter how it tastes. This certainly seemed to be this restaurant's attitude. Very poor on every level.
Went to F on F 6 years ago, and vowed never to go back as service was so bad. Thought we might give them another chance today as our preferred venue was shut. Service was slow, orders made after ours came out before ours did, the fish was soggy, everything was barely warm, two meals came on one plate minus the chips.
Some things never change.
I was not too impressed with this business. We went there a few years back and it was great. However we went there a couple of weeks ago and things have changed. The meal took forever even though there was hardly any customers. By the time it came out it was nearly cold and tasted horrible. There were used plates and cups left on the tables and flies were everywhere. Not a very nice experience and we wont be going back.
