My laptop was running super slow and kept crashing so i took it to Fixmylaptop on the Saturday. When i first walked in they originally quoted me $99 to fix my laptop. After they had the laptop for a few days they called and told me that I would need the hard drive replaced and it would cost $350. As my laptop was still under warranty I told them that I would send it off to Harvey Norman. They advised me that they could back up my hard drive if I dropped off an external hard drive which I agreed to do. Another couple of days later i received a call saying my laptop was ready for collection and I was told that it would be $150 for all the time spent on it. When I got the laptop home I noticed a new delete key as my old one had fallen off and I was very impressed that they replaced it, but then I noticed the big scratch along the top of the laptop as if something heavy was sitting on it and had been dragged across it. I took the laptop to Harvey Norman and it was inspected on the spot, the girl said that the laptop that I have would tell me if there was an issue with the hard drive. As i have had the laptop for 2 years she advised me that all I had to do was a system reboot taking it back to factory settings as if it was brand new again wiping everything off the laptop and this should fix the issue, she advised if I needed to back it up that it would only cost $50. She then showed me the procedure for how to do it at no cost which ended up fixing my issue. I was very lucky that it was still under warranty as I would have paid the $350 to replace the hard drive which didn't need replacing. I will not be returning to fixmylaptop
