We had the Chef's Menu Degustation (the big one) last night for 5 people.
Each dish is beautifully presented, the service is polite and not intrusive.

The food is outstanding and nearly every dish was received well by the whole table.

You've got to be a seafood lover for this one though!

Great place with always fresh seafood. The cod is just amazing. My only concern is the somehow sluggish service, that might happen when the place is crowded. Otherwise, it's a wonderful restaurant.

Always a wonderful experience. Fantastic menu, in one of Sydney's great waterfront locations.

The Flying Fish is my number one fine-dinning destination in Sydney. The views are beautiful, the service is incredible and the food is amazing. We get the crab cooked up in a chilli sauce. YUM

This restaurant is a stroke of genius in every respect WOW.
Outstanding location, valet parking, menu, service, food is flawless, it was a birthday treat I'll never forget & probably the best restaurant I've experienced in this country.

For a recent anniversary lunch we decided to venture to Pyrmont to Flying Fish beause we'd heard and read the many great reviews and wanted to experience it for ourselves. We were not disappointed. I only booked a few days before hand and upon arrival we were seated at the perfect table for two, right next to the glass doors at the front of the restaurant overlooking the harbour towards the bridge. The weather was stunning and the service was super efficient so the perfect setting. We kicked off the meal with some Pol Roger champagne and settled into some sashimi and deep fried crab hand rolls - both were superb, the sashimi just melted in the mouth. We kept the fish theme running, my partner trying snapper with scampi wrapped on prosciutto and he couldn't stop raving about it. I decided on Sri Lankan prawn curry which had a range of complex flavours and was delightful - very authentic flavours. Throughout the meal the service was attentive without being too over the top. Overall a terrific experience, not cheap (around $330 for two, but that included two glasses of French Champagne and a good bottle of white pinot gris). If it's romance you want try and reserve the table by the glass doors at the front. You wont be disappointed. If its a business lunch or a larger table with friends and you want to impress then Flying Fish works equally well.

Before you try anything - go straight for the sashimi plate for the most wonderful taste sensation of the freshest fish in Sydney. From there the choice is nothing less than fantastic. From the steamed whiting with the scallop mousse to the steak (which I didn't eat - but looked great!). Service was wonderful and the wine a delight. The perfect place for a great client lunch on a Friday afternoon.

The waiters are passionate about the venue and the menu; the passion and skill from the kitchen is evident as well, with a fantastic combination of flavours and textures emerging during the degustation menu.

Unfortunately the clear glass bathrooms are quite alarming and therefore an unpleasant dinner table conversation but every other aspect of the restaurant is sublime.

A 'special occasion' kind of venue and the price list is not for the faint-hearted. As with reviewer "Monty B", a great way to spend a long lunch!

Had a fantastic long lunch at Flying Fish. I was with a group of six and we all had the degustation with matching wines. Highly recommended. Will be going back regularly!

Amazing. Expensive so best for a night out when your looking to celebrate or impressbut the service is so sharp you'd cut yourself. the food is Seafood and not the usual seafood platter either. We had a kilo of Balmain bugs in a sri lankan curry and, they have other fresh seafood prepared in many other ways too as well as what is on the menu. The wine list was impeccable from here and, abroad. for desert we had the cheese platter 5 types with plenty of condiment and, breads & crakers of every imaginable type the cheeses were presented in order of intensity and, from different regions including France. The interior is amazing too good combination of the old Wharves wood and tricky glass & lighting. Enjoy!
