I was very happy at Dickson Family Food Court. I love the concept of all you can eat, and despite the poor reviews decided to try it for my self. I have eaten at restaurants extensively and have high standards.
My family of 2 adults and 2 kids arrived famished in Canberra and I wanted an inexpensive family friendly restaurant.
Firstly the place was SPOTLESSLY clean - really good.
Food was hot and invitingly laid out in 3 large Bain Maries with splatter guards very much alike to Sizzler.
My children and husband were very happy whilst there, exclaimed at the range of foods and I noticed other people did too.
SOUPS
There was 3 soups, Sweet Corn, Chicken and Mushroom,
Toasted Croutons, fresh bread rolls with sesame seeds.
SALADS
Pasta salad, 4 bean mix, pineapple, beetroot, many other fresh salad ingrediants.
Many dressings and sauces provided.
Sliced sandwich ham.
SEAFOOD
Lovely little herbed squids in olive oil, prawn and crabstick with lettuce salad, fish in Mayonaise. Fried large fish cocktails. Calamari Rings.
MISCELLANEOUS
Fried crumbed chicken pieces. Lasagne. Hot Chips.
Roasts,
Pork with perfectly done crackling.
Beef . Gravies and Sauces.
CHINESE
Sweet and sour pork, Garlic Beef, Soft fried noodles (yum), Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Combination braised vegetables. Prawn Chips.
DESSERTS
Ice cream, (strawberry, chocolate and vanilla). Chocolate Cake. Fresh Fruits. Tapioca Pudding, Jelly.
I have no doubt that I have forgotten some elements of what was there. Spring rolls, fish cocktails and calamari rings were constantly being replaced.
The female staff kept cleaning and stirring the hot foods. Empty plates were promptly removed, the staff were quite pleasant.
Crockery all matched as did cutlery and glassware.
We will return.
I actually think few people comment unless unhappy which is a shame. For the price it is a real bargain and a fun experience.
