You know what's better than breakfast? Nothing.
Feeling shady from a long night on Friday, Mr N and I decided to "treat ourselves" by heading somewhere closer to the water for my favourite meal of the day / life. Normally going straight to our normal spot in the south of Sydney, we realised it was packed so we made a detour to a buzzing cafe which had spilled it's chairs and tables into the street.
Located on a very small and modest strip of local stores, Foodies Deli Cafe just has "your local" written all over it with small and long tables which can accommodate large families with an open front throwing sunshine into the ends of the room. I kept my sunnies on for the benefit of the public.
I didn't think too much of the place before walking in, however was surprised that every seat was taken. Upon walking up to the front we were greeted by a gentleman who asked if it was just the two of us and politely pointed to a couple about to leave and goes "perfect". The table was cleared faster than my mushed brain could process and the menu's handed to us.
The menu seems well thought over and has a "keep it fresh and simple" approach, which made it easy to pick exactly what I wanted. Despite changing my mind about 10 times because everything sounded like music to my eyes.
Customer service was exceptional, with no judgement when we ordered 3 eggs each (#fatty4lyf) and huge apologies and action when Mr N's food came out with no toast. You guys are champions.
The coffee needs a mention with both of us downing 2 cups plus food presentation was more photogenic than a Kardashian. Insta-like.
We walked away feeling a tonne heavier, a million bucks and with a new local.
Highlight: DAT FOOD
