I have the upmost respect for the new owners of Food Works St Lucia, during the 2011 Queensland floods the owners of Food Works went above and beyond for the local community ensuring that all the communitys needs were met, they assisted in the minor but crucial things such as, the charging of a phone, or even a laptop, for something so simple the Food Works owners aloud for members of the community to charge there mobile phones, for something now that seems so simple at the time was a stretch of good graces. They slept on there floors and kept the store functional for everyone in the St Lucia area. The team at Food Works even assisted myself, it truly touched my heart.
I agree with the other review: there's a parking problem here (try the old grass ridden carpark under the back of the store). This store was created to cater to the large student population and as a result you will find more instant meals, noodles, soft drinks and easy to cook stuff but less of more obscure items (ie some kitchen utensils, gardening items etc). Service is like most Coles, polite but busy.
just like any other coles. i work in the deli of another coles and this one looks about the same in hygiene. quite small but adequate. parking is quite limited due to area. checkouts is one of the worst layouts i've seen - due to cramped store space.
