    accomadation in townsville is all very expensive, not at all value for money, but this place is an exception. only recently opened about middle of 2010, we stayed here in sept. the hostel/backpacker is situated in this 2 storey queenslander that has been renovated with singles, doubles and family rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, lounge areas inside and outside and nice garden areas. the common shared living areas are particularly modern and inviting with couches, dining tables, and lots of nooks and crannies to find your own space and relax. rooms are basic, clean and adequate and beds were fairly comfy, the 2 shared kitchens have great new facilties, including new oven, stove, fridge with filtered water and ice machine. several shared bathrooms and toilets are clean, adequate and modern. the staff are very helpful and accomadating, including with families with young children, including picking you up from airport. would definately recommend you stay here when in townsville and prices are the most reasonable around here.
