Rating for service only. I'd rate the foot but unfortunately we never got to order. ~ 20 mins of waiting, no offer of water or acknowledgement that "we'll get to you soon"... so we walked. Shame really, drove 30+ kms to have lunch in the Dandenongs, in the end drove home... never seems as good going somewhere else... somewhere that had already been overlooked for this place. I gave the management some feedback on leaving (politely), but was not even offered an apology And they weren't even that busy at the time...(~ 2:20pm). I would avoid this place.

Looking for the perfect place for a romantic lunch afternoon date? Dining at Fortnums guarantees that that the rest of the date will be excellent. For instance, the price of anything other than the Devonshire tea ensures that your wallet or handbag is no longer troubled by heavy, annoying money, thus imparting greater freedom for walking around. The exquisite view of the carpark outside will keep your beloved's eyes locked with yours - unless of course they are a fan of automobiles. You'll have plenty of time for the conversation to journey to romantic matters as you wait fifteen minutes for them to microwave your scone. Luckily for you lovebirds, the prime carpark-side indoor table is somehow beneath a large skylight, providing a free-of-charge tanning session, courtesy of the scorching Australian summer sun, saving you a visit to the solarium. The insipid jam and unremarkable scones served at Fortnums are a brilliant touch - guaranteeing that the Maccas or KFC you eat later will taste like a marvellous paradise of flavours by comparison. The only two unromantic aspects to Fortnums are the service - their friendly, helpful staff may distract you from your partner - and the clean, elegant bathrooms, which might inadvertently extend bathroom visit duration. In conclusion, I will definitely bring all my future dates to Fortnums, but strangely enough, will never visit alone.

Love this place! Great for lunch or afternoon tea any time of year. In a beautiful spot with native birds hanging around in the surrounding trees. We have always found the service to be great, and the food is lovely - especially the scones with jam and cream, yum!

My family and I visit this restaurant whenever i'm in Melbourne, which is about once per year. Great food, great value. They are always busy, but the wait time is reasonable. This is the best restaurant in the Dandenongs - highly recommended!

Remarkable delay on serving the food, ruining the plan and mood of the day. Wrong drinks given. Tunnel-vision waitress not able to see hands waving.
A bit console as neighbour tables are suffering as well.
    Need some improvements on management.

Guaranteed to warm you up on a cold winters day, Fortnums serves great light lunches and devonshire tea. Nestled in the heart of the Dandenongs a great place to have morning or afternoon tea.
