    As I live in Country Vic, I called Frankston Toyota to enquire about a car.
    That very day I drove all the way there after being told by the staff that the cruiser had a standard pertrol tank, a long range petrol tank and gas. When I got there, I drove it, loved it and signed on the dotted line.

    The next day I did some research and found out that the where the gas was fitted meant that it could NOT also have the longrange tank.

    I contacted the staff and was told there was no longrange tank and now I had to pay thousands extra for the longrange tank to be fitted and the gas adjusted.

    They now had my deposit (only 2 business days later) and have readvertised the car for sale! They have spoken down to me they told me it was my fault for not knowing what the underneath of a car looks like.

    I explained this is my first 4x4 and I phoned and asked the specs before I bothered coming down because I have no idea what to look for. They told me that they no longer wanted to sell me the car.

    I rang toyota finance and said I had all the paper work for finance and was ready to go but was waiting on them to sort it out with me....THEN they told me that because I haven't done finance (after 2 working days!!!!) they're going to simply send my cash back (via CHECK) and resell the car.Even though I have signed the paperwork and am waiting on them.

    The Toyota Frankston management who was meant to call me about it, has not. I am devastated. My first 4x4 purchase and the promise of some true out back Aussie fun has been shattered.

    What a treatment from a dealership that won Car dealer of the year!!!!!

    Later on the phone I asked them to drop the price of the vehicle which I did not barter on and I'd pay for the tank, then they let it slip that there's no room to move in price as they said they spent the extra give on a reco!!!!! A reconditioned engine????? THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED before I signed either. I asked for the previous owners Name and address (which I am allowed to have by LAW and guess what?? After 2 requests.......NO DETAILS have been forwarded to me.

    Yesterday I begged let me speak to the management there. They refused. I told them I couldn't stand any more stress over this and just wanted the management.....Nope. They assured me that after another sleepness night the management would call me the next day. Nope. BUT THEY SURE HAD THE TIME TO RELIST MY CAR ON THEIR WEBSITE THIS MORNING!!!!!
    ***UPDATE*** Today is Wednesday -I was meant to hear from the management on Monday....STILL NO contact from them.

    This is the worst experience I have ever come accross for something that is supposed to be a fun experience.

    After 3 days and 3 nights of complete stress and sleeplessness, I am chosing to go to consumer affairs.
