Frattini Italian restaurant in Leichhardt has all the elements of a home cooked meal, cosy atmosphere, boisterous wait staff and happy noisy buzz. A fixture in Little Italy for almost 20 years Frattini still offers BYO with no corkage, free bread on arrival ( to be eaten in the traditional style, broken with your hands) and free vegetables with the mains. Not a venue for a romantic dinner but perfect for group bookings, Frattini serves all the classic recipes one could expect from an Italian eatery.

Outstanding service. Came here on a Friday night, restaurant was fully booked, I thought our meals came out at a reasonable time. Waiter made suggestions on what we should have from the menu. The food is authentic Southern style Italian, I could even see the Italian ladies cooking in the kitchen. The way an Italian restaurant should be. Each meal was generously portioned. Fresh sauces, and homemade pasta and the wine is also delectable. It felt like I was visiting my Nonnas place. I couldn't have asked for more. Next time I will be adding a dessert to my experience!

While the service here is slow and you may be waiting a while for your meal, the food is worth the wait. The meals are very large, for most people an entree pasta would be enough! The pasta is fresh, however occasionally you may get too much sauce. I would still go back here, though.

This beautiful little gem on Marion St stands out amongst the multitude of other Italian joints in Leichhardt for its friendly service, intimate setting and array of fantastic flavours. Family owned and run, Frattini offers a satisfying and relaxing dining experience. For entrées, I recommend the meatballs and the scallops, both doused in delectable sauces. For mains, skip the pasta and dive into fresh skampie (yum!) or the amazing lamb shanks. Large servings, quality ingredients and a must-try range make this a pricey night out, but it's worth treating yourself once in a while. By the way, they don't charge corkage, and if you're really thankful the manager will throw in a round of sambuca shots - very nice touch!

Good food and service. I would recommend the white bait fritters followed by gorgonzola pasta.
