my partner and i recently purchased a car through finance with friendlee autos and the car has had nothing but problems!
i would never recommend getting a car through them they make it compulsory to pay more for their warranty which covers you for the bare minimum!

I too would certainly give Friendlee Autos the thumps up!

I am currently in the process of getting our second car through these guys!
I should know the result any day now!!

When we got our first car, the whole process was easy, unfortunatley due to a bad credit rating we didn't really have many options, and Friendlee Autos gave us a go!

Yes the interest rate is like 48%, but if you pay your loan on time and everyweek, "like you are supposed to".......you not only redeem a good credit record, but you have your vehicle, and other banks will give you go down the track!...

Seruously, when options are limited, at least these guys can help you out!!!!

    Tracy - Thumbs Up!!

I would like to give FriendLee Autos my thumbs up..

A few years back, I was involved in a relationship, that lets just say when bad, and I ending up being in financial ruin because of this, now, while this has nothing to do with anyone but myself, I thought I would give a little background.
Because of my past relationship, I found it hard to get a loan from any large financial organisation, this made it hard for me to get on with my life, as I could only work where there was public transport, (there isnt a lot on the north coast).
I found FriendLee Autos in a paper I was reading and thought I would give it a go, expecting to be rejected, as I had in the past, I was surprised to find that the salesman I dealt with was very helpful, he gave me all the information I needed, and helped me get into a car, with reasonable weekly repayments.
Now, while I could not get into the car I wanted, the salesman put me into a car that I could afford.
I bought a warranty from the yard as suggested by the salesman, which made sense, I wouldnt be able to afford a $5,000 motor if it had blown while I was already making my weekly payments.
While the interest rate was higher than the banks, for someone to give me a second chance was worth the extra money I paid.
I have just recently finished my loan for the car, and all I can say is Thank You, you have helped me get back on my feet, the warranty was never needed, but it was peace of mind knowing that, a second hand car could have problems at any time, and while the car I was put into had no issues, it could have easily gone the other way.
I would recommend anyone who had trouble getting a loan from the banks, give FriendLee a visit, while we may not get everything we want, its good that someone is willing to give those a chance, when others look the other way.
Now I have completed my loan, and am in a better financial position, in the near future I will go back to FriendLee Autos and get the more expensive vehicle I think I now deserve.
    Very Pleased

Their interest rates are ridiculous. 48 percent or whatever is way higher than even a bad credit car loan. I could have purchased a more smoother running vehicle with the deposit I slammed down up front. After it all I ended up with a car that DIDN'T run... the problems that went with it WEREN'T covered under their GREAT warranty...and yes I don't have a bad credit rating... never did... I just never needed to obtain a loan prior to this, paid everything in cash... including my cars. in future at least i know to shop around. My own fault probably for not having enough time to purchase or I would have a car that is still running.

    Where do i begin!!!
very disappointed. i purchased a car through this dealership...they stuffed up my warranty (wrote down the wrong km reading) it took months to sort it then they gave me a replacement warranty..but lets face it... they are a worthless piece of paper that puts more money into the hands of those who sell them!

the car was a complete lemon...i had nothing but trouble with it.
although the dealer assured me the car was in a1 condition...NOT TRUE. we were driving down the highway 600 km from home... and what happens...it spits the bearing and my wheel (axle and all) overtakes us going down the highway... LUCKILY MY CHILDREN WEREN'T IN IT AND THAT IT HAPPENED ON A STRAIGHT OUT OF THE WAY OF BIG RIGS!!! and thank god i was a premium care nrma customer or i would have been stranded on the side of the highway with only 3 wheels on my wagon!! - cost me another 1000 in repairs..luckily we got out of it cheaper than what could have happened if the damage had of been worse! and of course this cost wasn't covered via the warranty because it was classed as wear and tear... yes wear and tear that wasn't caused by us! We have always driven it as gently as possible... and looked after it but it kept failing us. In the end it sat in my garage for months not getting driven because i wasn't game to have my children in it.

I put a 3000 dollar deposit down ... car cost was around the 7k mark... then we had to sign for the warranty ... that in reality covers you for bugger all next to nothing. To top it off you are paying half the cost of the loan in interest. So in hind sight helping pensioners, people with recent employment etc really isn't the case... i could have been driving a brand new car.. and instead I was left with something that kept costing me money!!

OH and .... there was something majorly wrong with the 4wd (to which was there prior to us buying it) ... of course it wasn't noticeable in the test drive.... but we took it down a dirt track a couple of days after we purchased it...that wasn't tough terrain or anything.... but the lemon of a car wouldn't go up the hill... kept spinning out and slipping down i assume due to the weight and not enough grunt under the bonnet. However, when we locked it into 4wd it started to make a terrible clicking/grinding sound (like the whole thing was going to give way). Clearly it wasn't ever fit to be a work-horse as it was advertised!

Clearly you can tell a car isn't what it was supposed to be when this happens... or you get overtaken by semi rigs going up a slight hill... in the end we were lucky if we were doing 40km up a climb!! It definitely fit the chitty chitty bang bang category!

So no I am really not impressed and I certainly won't be purchasing another car through this company.

Keep in mind the interest though guys...I know they are now advertising no credit-check but that wasn't the case when I purchased this vehicle and I still got caught with a ridiculous interest rate something close to 40%...which is in the fine print... however at the time we were in desperate need of a vehicle tut tut... I will never fall for the fool again! They are very smooth talkers and make it sound like they are doing you the favour... if that's a favour then what is a con? At the time we were in a struggle in getting a car on finance due to my recent relocation to nsw... and although the repayments weren't a worry to us at all. I would have preferred to pay the extra 100 or so monthly and be driving a brand new car!

So my advice is if you do decide to purchase through this dealership because it is one of your only options... do your homework and see how fast you can pay out the loan... the quicker you pay it the less you pay obviously!

i totally agree with you!this car yard inhouse finance set up is a joke.they get your finance at 47% interest make you pay a rediculous deposit suck you in to paying for a warranty.the car you choose at an expensive price. you get it home and every thing goes wrong that the warranty doesnt cover.i got a lemon with a bad gearbox took it to a reputable transmission mechanic and was told the gearbox was had it!when i took it to friendlees mechanic workshop at the rear of the caryard all they did was a service at my expense of $150.00.they reckon the gearbox was fine.haaaa what a joke.also i got it home and had to buy a new battery car wouldnt start.2 months rego only when i bought i,t went to get it passed for pinkslip got told that the engine mount is broken.rang friendlees again told them they reckon i did it by hooning around fast .i am a mature woman for god sake i dont drive radical wouldnt even know how to do a burnout haaa.

out of all our customers, we have less than 5% that are unhappy, and these are the ones who dont pay and expect everything. when you sign and agree to a contract you are bound by the contract.

you purchased a warranty and services as well as the vehicle, this is why you are paying a high value, also with inhouse finance your interest is high, as you are a high risk customer, if you want 20% interest, goto a bank, but most of our customers cant, as they have bad defaults.

you pay abit more as when are giving you a 2nd chance, which no one else will, its our money we are risking.

yes, if you miss payments within the first 5 payments, you show us that that your ability to follow the terms of the contract are low, and yes our loan security is at risk.

we are bound by all ASIC and fair trading laws, we are not operating outside any rules, but some customers will get upset if they do not follow the rules of the loan, or dont get what they want.
