Went there in late April for a birthday lunch. Good service but food was very disappointing. Coral Trout Dieppoise was overpowered by excessive sauce and Seafood Hot Mix was fresh but could have got the same at the local hotel. Overall, high price does not match or justify the quality of the food.

A bit overpriced but hey its seafood. Awesome restaurant, very classy decor and absolutely friendly staff always going around to tables filling up your water etc. Will definitely go back.

Really good service. The seafood is always great at Gambaro. I think the seafood here is some of the freshest you could find in Brisbane. Get your orders in early if you're hunting for seafood around busy seasons.

Recently had the pleasure of dining at Gambaros and was so very pleased with all aspects. The service was wonderful, especially that given by Lisa, the food was fresh, generous servings, and the presentation was masterful. Mr Gambaro was doing the rounds of the restaurant, adding a feel good, personal aspect to the experience. I can't wait to go back.

The seafood here is so fresh and well prepared, excellent dinning environment and friendly staff, I love the barramundi and wine selection.

My wife took me there for my birthday a few years back. If you love seafood it is definitely worth a visit. Huge restaurant but still very good service. Seafood was succulent. A little pricey but you expect that for seafood. A lovely night all round! (Parking can be a headache)

A thoroughly enjoyable place for a birthday party or other celebration. The seafood is second to none, though the prices are a little high compared to similar restaurants. The staff are very obliging and pleasant - they know their stuff in relation to the dishes on offer.

Gambaro's Seafood Restaurant is just a wonderful night out, especially when you get time to be alone with your partner. the food great and staff I have had for both meals were great. The food is fresh as Gambaro's have their own seafood warehouse at South Brisbane. If you love seafood, Gambaro's is the place to go.

The place to buy and eat all things aquatic.

I have been to this resturant several times, and whilst the food is great, the service can only be described as poor. I have waited very long times for my meal to arrive at my table. I could understand if the resturant was very busy, however on the occasions I have dined there it has not.

The late Giovanbaptista Gambaro first opened a fish and chip shop on Caxton Street in 1953. In 1972, the restaurant Gambaro seemed a logical extension, and today, the family-run business continues, serving splendid seafood. The day’s catch is prepared in myriad styles, from king prawn and crab meat ravioli with prawn and fennel sauce, to whole baked barramundi. The wine list is comprehensive, and includes 13 vintages of Grange. The trendy MG Bar serves bistro-style snacks. Mains average: $38.
