The Gap Tavern is a great venue for families and children, however the food and service is poor, this once regular haunt for our family has gone downhill. I have recently been back hoping the food would have improved and sadly it has not for this once popular tavern for families in the inner west.

Great place for all the family with a playground for the kids, great view for mum and big screen tv playing sport for dad! Good range of meals and the menu changes regularly so there's always something new to try. It's also a good place to meet a mate for a couple of quiet beers and a punt on the gee gees (when they're not sick with the flu!).

As The Gap has changed over the years, so too has this eatery, keeping up with the needs of young families looking for a venue that still serves quality fare in a stylish setting. There are indoor and outdoor play areas for the youngsters, while the restaurant itself includes a great, weather-proof deck with views to the leafy suburban surrounds. Order traditional beef, or surf and turf, from the grill, or mains like the seafood combo: tempura prawns, salt and pepper squid, beer-battered flathead, chips and salad; or pancetta-wrapped chicken breast with pumpkin, pine nut and spinach risotto cake with parsley cream sauce.
