What a very honest, true to his word mechanic. Have been going to Gav for many years now and and have recommended many, many family members, friends, neighbours & work colleges who all still remain very happy customers. His customer service, feedback and honesty are very hard to find in this type of industry.

We have moved 3 times over the past 7 years and will still travel the distance to take our vehicle to him and have had various work done on our vehicles and appreciate his ongoing customer service and great attitude to his work. His staff are also very friendly and nothing seems to be a problem.

I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone!

NOT RECOMMENDED. Had a problem with a fuel pump. Forced by warranty terms to take the car to GMR as they were the preferred mechanic.

GMR replaced the fuel pump but I incurred a charge because GMR claimed not to be able to get the part at the price allowed under the warranty. Subsequent enquiries with suppliers makes me believe that GMR overcharged me quite a bit for the part.

The car broke down again a week later. NRMA diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump. NRMA reported that the fuel pump had been replaced, but the associated wiring had not been cleaned or checked. This should have been picked up in the previous service a week before. GMR claim to have checked all the wiring, but this was disputed by NRMA - the wiring was very very clogged and dirty - no way it was checked and cleaned. It was obvious that the wiring hadn't been touched for a long time.

Guess what? The car broke down again today - NRMA have diagosed the problem as the fuel pump once again. I have taken the car to my old mechanic even though the part is still under warranty. This time I want it fixed properly.

  I would recommend Gavin at Gavs to anyone i have been a client for years and have always found the service A1 i have recently had a full engine rebuild and he was by far the cheapest in the area and also showed me and explained step by step how and what was getting done
