    The Gawler Arms - the staff were friendly but the food was something else... I've eaten better microwave meals. A few of us went and all had different plates, every meal was overcooked, tasteless and overpriced. The best thing there was the bread.

    The Gawler Arms is a good place to eat. Conveniently located, a reasonably diverse menu and pleasant atmosphere. The one thing they are known for though is their extensive soup, salad, hot vegetable and dessert bar. You are certainly not left hungry when you eat here. It is a bit disappointing that they don't have a bit more variety in their menu but if you are one who likes to have the same dish each time then you'll be ok here. I recommend their seafood platter and their rump steak.

    My husband and I regularly eat at the Gawler Arms Hotel. Thursday nights' are a huge hit - $13.90 special meals,which comes with soup (x2 types) variousus meals on a special menu cover, salad and vegetables and a wonderful dessert bar plus Ice Cream galore. The house wines are very reasonable and good. The staff, we compliment always bright and friendly. Te regular menu is very comprehensive aand I would suggest,meet most peoples appetites.
    The gaming area is light and bright,unlike too many other establishments; the machines are well spaced. Would have to say, yes a definite favourite of ours.
