whipped mountains of deliciousness indeed it is. I never used to eat Gelati because I was an Ice-Cream kinda girl and wondered what the hell is Gelati? Is it trying to take over Icecream?! .. then one warm summers night a few years ago.. Me and my girlfriends were walking along Rundle Street after dinner and wanted some dessert. Walking passed Gelatissimo, one of the girls said ok lets go here.. and I said ok but do they have normal icecream? They insisted I just try a flavour (and by that time I was already googling the Hazelnut, and then choc mint and then macadamia caramel.. the lot!) .. Salivating, I nodded a yes with a big grin on my face..... It was delicious!! A couple of weeks ago, after having dinner at Mapo, Gouger Street, me and two friends decided for Gelatissimo for dessert and this time.. I saw all these new flavors! (it had been a while since I had any) and once again, I was confused! I tasted quite a few before settling with the Roasted Almonds (mmm...) but I wish I could have it all. Im vowing to myself that next time, I try a new flavour again instead of getting my usual favorites.. Sometimes, we have to step outside that box. =p The prices are good, the serving is kind and the selection is plentiful, youre definitely going to find something you like to satisfy your tastebuds here. This place definitely is a must, especially for those warm days and nights!! ahh... cloud nine!
After travelling through Italy, searching for the kind of gelati that makes you weak at the knees, I came home to Adelaide and found that I needn't have travelled so far. Gelatissimo is absolutely the best gelati I've ever had. Full stop. Plus, the Gougar Street store is filled with friendly staff who are always happy to let you taste before you choose a flavour (or three).
