    The management is appalling, acts nice to your face before you are a member, and then ignores you while you are paying your money, they took the paper dispensers from the main gym so you can't wipe down the machines which brings up a lot of health concerns! There was only one staff member who was different from the rest, that staff cared about the members and their well-being, But sadly the management got rid of that staff! very bad GYM!!!

    Again I can't stress this enough, this gym has angered me and will anger a lot more people! The management is rude and doesn't care about you, they only care about how deep your pockets are! And the gym is very dirty and Unclean! I would not recommend this gym to my worst enemy!!!

    This is the worst gym in the history of Gyms, the management only cares about money and nothing else! The machines are falling apart, there are kids running around the reception and Gym, and only one personal trainer for the whole gym!!! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!

    This is the worst gym i have ever joined , management there is disgraceful and staff are overly pushy they did not give me the 1 month free as described on the site. They continue to charge me 10 dollars extra for late payment which was not told when i first joined . The facility is dirty staff are rude management there is rude. I have 10 months left and i am dreading it i hate it there and cancellation is impossible there is a cost for everything including transfer of gym and trasnfer of member i just want to get rid of my membership there.

    This is the worst gym I've ever joined up with. THe owner family was extremely pushy into getting people to join their gym. Once you're a member, the service was so poor. Hygiene was defitnitely an issue. The swimming pool was so dirty, so were the public showers and toilets. They even took away the napkin dispensers in some toilets. I've spoken to alot of members there and they all seemed to be very disappointed with the service of this new owner. People should really post up their opinions so those who are thinking of joining can have a general idea of what they're getting into.

    I totally agree with hawksrbest, cancellation of the membership was difficult. I joined for a six months membership and I have checked with them at around five months to make sure which date which be exactly six months so i can cancel my membership. They told me the the date and said that I could cancel right on that day and the memebership would be deactivate straightaway. But when six months time was up, I called them and they said that I have to make an appointment to see this person whom was in charge of cancellation and fill out a cancellation form. Then the membership would be cancelled after 30 days. If I'd know this earlier, I would have filled out the form at 5 months.

    Extremely dissapointed with the servcice there. WOuld never go back!

    My son joined Genesis Dandenong, after 2 months he had an accident and ended up in hospital, when i called to suspend his memebership i was told there was nothing they could do as it is a franchise and they would continue to deduct payments from his bank. The girl i spoke to was extremely rude and unsympathetic, she gave the impression that she could not care less. I explained that when my son was able he would happily return and continue paying his membership but the girl said that did not make any difference as he had already agreed to have his money deducted from his account.
    I then rang head office they said they would look in to it and to this point which is 4 weeks later i have heard nothing.
    I have 2 other sons who both attend different gyms and they are more than happy there, seems to be Genesis Dandenong that have a problem with customer service. I would advise anyone who is thinking about signing up with them to read the fine print very thoroughly.

      If I were you, I would call the bank and stop the deductions from being taken out, you can do that, and yes you're right its not about customer service, just getting the dollars in.
      I had a similar incident with another gym and just stopped the deductions.

      tried to cancel bank deduction, but genesis say it is a legal contract and they can force me to pay them, they sound as if they have had to deal with this complaint many times.

      Still trying to get a resolution with this company. They are a nightmare to deal with and give you every excuse under the sun. They are obviously trained up in how to take your money for no return. They just keep palming you off until you stop asking in frustration.

    Great place to workout and staff are friendly but my favourite thing there is the spa. It is members only but the spa is so worth it. Large, strong jets and hot. The pool is a nice size and have great deals throughout the year that reduce membership costs

      - Staff are friendly
      - Weekends are the best time to workout if you want a quiet environment

      Negatives

      - Costs for new members are too high, if you are an existing member you might get better ongoing deals paying by cash.
      - Equipment takes some time to get fixed
      - A/C is never on
