The staff here, with few exceptions, are incredibly rude. The membership is not cheap yet you're made to feel like an imposition on their time and heaven help you if a staff wants to use the equipment you're already using. A staff actually scoffed at me this morning because I was using a weight machine that staff wanted client to use. When considering joining up as a member I was also told I couldn't use my free trial pass unless I was going to join up as a full member. The gym itself is ok for classes and cardio equipment but its really badly set up for free weights and machine weights. Unfortunately this is the closest gym to my house. I think if another gym were to open in mentone they'd do very well as most of the people I speak with at genesis find the staff very rude.

Only selling memberships and personal training. I signed up for a starter pack of 4 PT sessions because it was the only way I could get someone to help me learn how to use the equipment and set up a program to do weights. I already do other training elsewhere and only signed up here because it was close to home and I wanted to do a couple of weight sessions a week when I could fit them in around other stuff. The focus of the sessions was totally on signing me up for PT they did not even give me a program until the third session. When they realised that I was not going to sign up for additional sessions at $60 per half an hour I was told that I would never reach my fitness goals. They are supposed to empower their clients. I would imagine if I was overweight and didn't have the money to do PT it would be pretty crushing to have someone tell you that you won't reach your goals......
