Genghis Khan Mongolian Bbq Restaurant

Directions
The interesting buffet style of Genghis Khan is one not to miss. The Mongolian restaurant offers a set price each night for dinner, Sunday-Thursday, $17.90, Friday-Saturday, $22.90 for unlimited food. Diners collect their raw food, from rice and noodles to the diverse main dishes of vegetables, meats and sauces before giving their plates to the kitchen to be cooked on the spot. The relaxed atmosphere and music in the background makes for an enjoyable evening. Lunchtime bookings are available for larger group functions.

Love the South Australian Genghis Kahn, been going there for 25 years so was REALLY excited to try the one in Brisbane. The service could not have been worse. Really disappointed and will never bother going there again. It's a shame because I take my family to the one in Adelaide on a very regular basis spending thousands of dollars there a year happily. We're moving to Brisbane soon and were really hoping that we'd be able to do the same at the one in the valley. Looks like genghy will become a "when we're in Adelaide" only treat :(

The food was good and fun to watch the staff prepare the meal. BUT..... The ad above clearly states that the meals are $17.90 Sunday-Thursday. We went as a group tonight Wednesday. They tried to charge us $23.90 per person. Refused to change the bill. Even after we showed them the ad above. Will not EVER go back again as who knows how much they would charge next time.

This place was terrible, by far the worst restaurant I have been to both in Australia and overseas. After being sold a few months back, Genghis Khan has really gone down hill.

There was no food in sight, despite being the middle of the evening (they actually had to fill the buffet/selection bar after we arrived). We were seated at a dirty table, by the owner, who didn't seem to want to explain to us what the process was. When we asked about the process, the owner didn't seem to speak good enough English to explain it, and merely kept repeating "Yes, Smorgasboard!"...

One of our party saw cockroaches in the preparation area, and after being presented a rather burned plate of spring rolls (one of which was dropped on the floor and sneakily put back on the plate while being transported to the table), we decided to leave before risking our health on this dreadful establishment.

I would never even consider eating here again.

A great night! We recently had a family birthday party here with over 50 people. The staff were accomodating and helpful. Service was efficient and friendly, and the food was yummy. The place has a relaxed atmosphere, so add a few drinks and karaoke - it makes for a fun night. Recommend it.

Look, its a bit dodgy, but its way fun. Where else can you pick what you like, have it stir fried in a crazy giant wok, and then watch drunk people sing karaoke. The more people you bring, the more fun it is. All you can eat too!
