    I once frequented Georges regularly but found over time a lot of the produce I was purchasing was not fresh or only lasted a day or 2 before it was just not nice enough to eat. I have been back every so often to check if the quality has picked up because I like to support local business as I myself am a small business owner but unfortunately every time I am left very disappointed. The service also seems to have slipped dramatically, back when the quality of service and produce were great I was always offered help with getting the boxes to my car and served with a smile however the last time I went in I was 8 months pregnant with a toddler in tow and not once did a staff member even acknowledge me let alone offer assistance. Very disappointed in what a once fantastic store has become

    George's is an excellent grocery and delicatessen with a VERY wide range of products, including items that are hard to find elsewhere. They have cheap deals on some fruits and vegetables (often less-than-perfect produce, but with better quality versions at higher prices if you prefer that). Their staff are pleasant. I always enjoy my visits there.

    Can't believe no ones reviewed Georges!?
    This is the best Fruit & Vege outlet on the northside. Product arrives daily straight from Rocklea markets & is sold at anything up to 1/10 of what the supermarkets charge for weeks old preserved product. The produce is usually the stuff the supermarkets don't want ie it has spots or blemishes.
    Thursday is market day when the best specials are available, you can get a weeks worth of fresh fruit & vege for your family for under $60.
    Georges has a deli full of Italian treats & a large grocery section for Italian cooking essentials, as well as a new area dedicated to livestock feeds?! Must be a lot more home chook raising going on than I knew??
    Only bad points: parking sucks, & they do sell old product at heavy discount.
    Recommend to all who like fresh healthy produce at farm gate prices

      I agree with this review, but don't let it give you the impression that all of their produce has spots or blemishes. :)
