Myself and my 11 companions that came from far and wide to dine at the much vaunted restaurant were COMPLETELY and UTTERLY disappointed and disgusted at having driven so far for crap food little better then greasy fast food take away. My brother's birthday party was ruined.

The first impression is excellent, walking into an old converted shop front/residence on the main street of this quaint and rustic little town, but the first hint of the disaster to come was the so-called entre.

Everyone was expected order all three courses right away by a waiter, with an overweening smile... we all looked around at each other puzzled, but not wanting to upset the ambience of my brother's birthday celebration, we went ahead and did as we were asked. The menu contained a kangaroo meat dish, and, 'roo needing an expert kitchen staff to cook this delicacy correctly, I asked the waiter if the kitchen staff was proficient at cooking kangaroo, for which I was shot a very nasty look... I'm getting close to walking out, but again, it's my brother's birthday... the waiter then assures me I will not be disappointed, and so I rather tentatively ordered the kangaroo dish.

The three entrees available all came bunched together in a slimy mess on several plates "to be shared", despite having ordered separately, and with absolutely no clue given as to what we were eating or indeed whose entrees were whose. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but our particular group of diners does not like to have the kitchen staff choose what we will eat, nor are we accustomed to having three different dishes grouped on one plate.

Time passed, amid growing consternation and nervous small talk - again, nobody wanted to ruin the birthday celebration - until eventually, after well over an hour since the entre dishes were taken away, the main courses started to arrive. The best thing anyone said about the food when asked was "Oh, it's ok", and the worst thing anyone said was me, about the filthy bit of old shoe leather they had the audacity to call "kangaroo fillet". It was absolutely disgusting.

Fortunately, I declined to order dessert, perhaps sensing the impending doom, but what I saw only reinforced my complete disappointment with the venue and indeed the whole evening. Like the entrees, the desserts were similarly smashed on to shared plates, and at this point everyone else at the table started to voice their disappointment. But the ultimate insult was yet to come.

The waiter then had the audacity to bill us well over $1,000 for 12 disappointing meals. Everyone quietly pulled out their money and left, so upset that they changed their minds about going to the after party and just went home to sleep the disaster off.

The locals might think it's wonderful, but for serious diners, I beg you to avoid this dump at all costs.
