The first and last time I went here was during a sale. We found an item worth around $20 and asked the attendant whether that was also a sale item. Staff looked at us with obvious annoyance and said "that's worth $20, what do you think I'll get if I give a discount on it?" I can't remember the exact wording but that was the gist of the 2-minute on-the-spot lecture. We replied "we were just asking, because we didn't know." Staff then said, again with the attitude, "well that's only $20. I can't put something like that on sale."
I am not really surprised to see the management note saying their sales have dropped up to 30% and they are closing down. Here's what is hopefully a helpful feedback: Since this minor incident we have never bothered to go back. It's not a big deal, but we'd rather spend our money on a shop that offers friendly help, not an attitude in response to what is a basic question that can be answered with a basic "no, sorry, that's not on sale."

Ive been to this store a few times and I cant say I have ever been disappointed by the service. During my last visit, I was not very surprised to find that the attendant in this shop was actually the owner - mostly because he showed a concern and respect for his customers which i think is a quality that equates to a care for the business (which 'hired help' at times fails to display). Anyway, during my last visit I was supported through out my entire shopping experience; I was given fashion and fabric quality advise, a 10% discount and a few suggestions about what fabrics would suit my desired sporting use. Unsuprisingly, I spent a few more dollars than I intended to, a sign of good sales and to be perfectly honest - I have no regrets, the quality of the products was exceptional! So, if you want to support a local business and value a business with friendly face that provides good quality products, then without a doubt, Sam's go sport should be up there on your list for places to go!
