I went to Golden Century with a group of 12 on Saturday night. It was the first time in years and nothing has changed ... it's still awesome! Starting with Peking Duck we ate through more courses than I can remember. They have tanks full of live fish and seafood, which makes it as fresh as possible. What a feast!
I ate at this restaurant last week had an amazing experience. Lucky we booked because the restaurant was packed by the time we arrived. I've never experienced service so quick! We ordered, literally 5 minutes later our food was on the table! Awesome food! The bill came to over $100 for two people and noticed they had obviously overcharged us. I called them a few days after and notified them. I could not find my receipt of payment, so they looked up our order and called me back within a couple of hours and advised me that they charged us for times four fried rice when we only consumed one. They offered to refund my money back straight away and apologised for the human error. Overall we received excellent service and satisfaction.
Pipis in XO sauce is a must try. Last time I went the service wasnt great but ive been there many times and never had any complaints so it must have just been an 'off' night. I would highly recommend Golden Century, not only is it great chinese food at a great price - its also a Sydney icon :)
We enjoyed a wonderful banquet for about 16 or so people - divided up, drinks included it was only $40 a head. The food was plentiful & delicious, the service was excellent and it's almost worth going there just to see the giant crabs in the tanks near the window!! Highly reccomend the chilli crab, San Choi Bow & the Peking duck pancakes. Mmmmmmm yum!
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been too. Food has always been consistently excellent and the service top notch. Might be waiting a little while without a reservation but worth it. Seafood here is excellent and always fresh
All the traditional Chinese faves are executed brilliantly in this multi-level, bustling Chinatown favourites, though seafood (like Crab in XO sauce, salt and pepper calamari and prawns), are their specialty. Not the cheapest, but not expensive either, and definitely one of the best. Four chopsticks.
In my opinion, this is probably the best traditional style chinese in Sydney city. You can't go here without ordering the two course duck meal or the salt and pepper king prawns. If you want to indulge yourself, the order the 2 course lobster. This is one of my favourite meals in Sydney. First they bring out the lobster sashimi then they take it away and bring out salt and pepper lobster. Absolutely amazing. Service is always attentive.
