From the outside this restaurant looks pretty basic, the location is awful and once inside the acoustics leave much to be desired and if i were not taken there by my work i would never have gone but dont let this put you off, because the food and service here are absolutely amazing!
This is fast, traditional Italian cooking at its best with a beautiful array of the finest produced served in inventive modern ways. I highly recommend the fresh figs wrapped in proscuitto, with a warm gorgonzola pistachio and balsamic sauce, as an entree, its to die for!
It is not cheap, but good food never is, but whats more of an issue is deciding what to eat because all the dishes are seriously appealing, dont worry however the friendly staff are more than accommodating when it comes to helping you narrow your selection, be prepared however to loosen the top button!
The food is very delicious here and the staff are very friendly although the service was a little slow. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was less than half full. It was 7.30 when we sat down and after our entrees, our mains were served at 9pm, a little too late to be eating!
I quite enjoyed my meal here, however I did find the prices a little high for the food served. While it was tasty and the sizes generous, there are other restaurants around that are better value for money. The wait staff were polite and attentive, however at the end of the meal it felt like they were trying to hurry us out the door.
I found Grappa a little disappointing as I'd heard many good things. The interiors feel a little cold so I never got fully comfortable. The food was very good however, especially my salmon pasta dish. Service could of been friendlier.
Grappa is one of the few five star restaurants in Leichhardt. I find the atmosphere stark and the restaurant noisy - which I guess is because of the glass walls and the white tiled floors. The food is lovely, the waiters experienced. For an extravagent night Grappa is the place to go.
