    Renovated a few years ago now, this pub is a nice local. Well at least its nicer than some of the other pubs around the area {ie: The Iron Duke and The Glenroy}.

    Unfortunately the beer garden has become the smokers garden so unless you like breathing other peoples smoke, you cant sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The allowed smokers area is also really close to the indoor lounge area, which makes it very unpleasant if you are unlucky enough to sit on the large lounges or even most of the smaller tables and lounge chairs.

    While still on my anti-smoking rant..its also awful when ordering food as the cash register is smack in the middle of the smoking area. There is also another enclosed smoking room that fronts onto Bourke St and if you sit anywhere near that you also get to smell cigarette smoke.

    Please Green Square Hotel do something about the cigarette stench that ruins non-smokers from enjoying your pub!

    Ok on to other things about this pub

    The staff are great and its nice to see barmen that have been there for years.
    The trivia is awesome and always a great night.
    The menu was nice at one stage, but really needs to be regularly changed. It is very tired and the specials are usually exactly the same as things on the normal menu. Please change your menu as its boring for the regular patrons!!
    The wine list..is hit and miss. Often I have to ask about a few different wines before we find something that is in stock. If the wines advertised on the wine list were all in stock, then I would say it was a good range and well priced.
    The bathrooms are usually okish. The hard dryer in the ladies bathroom hasnt worked for at least 3 years and there are no paper towel options.
