The WORST experience I've had at a restaurant... Not sure what the food was like as we left before we even ordered, that's how bad the service was. I was shocked that when the management arrived they were so rude that we couldn't even stand to have our dinner ruined by the bad service they had caused. We were informed in no uncertain terms that you "Cannot get a table for 20 people anywhere in Brisbane and we were completely out of line for expecting it (even after booking 2 weeks in advance)". We managed to find a table for 20 people in 5 minutes after one phone call... I could honestly take up this whole screen going into detail about the horrible service but I won't... I'll just say DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

    .... I wish I didn't even have to give them 1/2 a star

Only collected take away, however restaurant seemed busy. Vermicelli salad was delicious. Very cheap about $20 for two beef salads. Staff were quick and friendly. Restaurant looks clean and had a nice atmosphere. only downside was no free parking. Will try dining in next time.

Ate at Green Tea tonight for the last time. Our waiter was obnoxious - beyond rude. He soured our entire meal . Awful awful awful. The food was barely average - never going back and would recommend others to avoid.

Once checked to ensure that I did actually have the same restaurant as that which was reviewed by the Brisbane News earlier this year I was astonished to see that it was in fact the same restaurant. Either the Brisbane News attended upon this establishment on an evening where a completely different chef presided over the kitchen or the reviewer has no idea of food. Either way, a warning to all, this is the worst food and by far the worst surly service I have experienced in a long time. Not since the early days of chew and spew Chinese food hit the streets of Brisbanes Fortitude Valley has food been this bad, yet the Brisbane News say its the best in China Town, heavens, how bad must the others all be?
To start, the San Chow Bow was so oily and flavorless that the best part was the lettuce leave without the accompaniment. The fried Dim Sims, what can I say, they were cold on the inside, covered with a thick pastry of dough that was like something you would find at the Brisbane Ekka covering one of those Dagwood Dogs one risks eating. On the side, a bowl containing what tasted like one of those sickly sweet sauces you find in the Asian isle at Coles, near to the sweet and sour sauces.
The main, only got worse. A dish, described as Vietnamese Chilli and Lemongrass Beef was brought to the table, minus any chilli, and the lemongrass was minus any flavor nor the usual freshness of a Vietnamese dish. The lemongrass seemed to come from a bottle, it was bland. The meat, appeared to have been boiled at best (remembering this was a Vietnamese stir fry dish), again, no flavor at all, combined with carrot and something resembling some sort of very well over cooked greens, undistinguishable at best. The Honey Chicken, seriously dont know what happened to the chicken in the honey chicken!!. Was coated in very sickly sweet honey on a bed of dried noodles. Awful.
We made mention of our displeasure at having received was what supposed to be Vietnamese dishes that in fact were the type of dish youd have received in the Valley 20 years ago and called it Chinese. The waiter looked at us as if we had no idea of what we were taking about, left the full plates on the edge of the table and walked off.
If you searching for Vietnamese, this is NOT the place to go. Think Chinese from a service station in the outback.
At least the Wilsons Riesling was fantastic.

I agree with you %100 about the owner, restaurant and Brisbane News. Brisbane News is a commercial newspaper. I believe nothing in there published as a review actually reviewed by the Brisbane News. It's sad to see some people not aware of this and fall into marketing by the restaurant in Brisbane News.

THERE is something deeply satisfying about Vietnamese food.

Perhaps it’s that rare combination of fresh herbs and wickedly delicious food, giving the illusion of guilt-free pleasure. For many, it probably is guiltless but if I have the menu in hand, the devil on my shoulder gets the most say and the healthy stuff becomes merely an adjunct.
