Ha-Lu, located on Oxford Street Mount Hawthorn is a fine dining Japanese restaurant that follows the traditional Izakaya serving style; encouraging social interaction throughout the meal, and the sharing of dishes. Blink and you will miss it. This restaurant is a tiny gun-barrel store and is a hidden gem! It is always busy in here so booking are essential. The food is designed for sharing, order several plates to share amongst the table. You can order bento boxes as well if you want something more substantial. I am in love with their ha-lu style pickled cucumber, its amazing stuff so i always order a few bowls :)

Food amazing! To be eaten in tapas setting.
Service is great and friendly!
A tad small, so book to avoid not getting in.
