Having just had the most horrendous experience with this company I felt compelled to write a review.
The following week (last week) I was called one hour prior to confirm my appointment, at the time I thought what great service!! The staff arrived promptly and measured up the the shutters and appeared to be expecting a decision then and there about signing up for the shutters. My response was that I needed to discuss with my partner the various blade size, product and quote. Staff then proceeded to get out his blackberry (or equivalent) and said I was single. My response was pardon and this has nothing to do with you all I want is a quote. Staff said I had misrepresented myself to the company in stating I was single at the time of booking the quote, and that it was against company policy to provide a quote unless both parties were present. They asked if the only way I communicated with my partner was by email? I found this to be rude and totally irrelevant.
The long and short of this review is that they left and I received no quote. i did eventually request that they take their shutters and leave after they refused to give me a quote after measuring up. I also pointed out that rarely do people have the luxury these days of having both parties home whether that be evenings, days or weekends.
I then phoned the management, who whilst sympathetic and agreeing with me clearly has no idea of what is company policy. As previous reviews have illustrated, I am not the only one who has been subjected to this unacceptable behaviour / policy. they also added that for my being inconvenienced they would take $600 off my shutters. what a joke even at that price they are still $400 dearer than my other quotes.
My point is this, in 2011 it should not matter or be anyones business about your home situation, marital status or living arrangements especially half price shutters and to use this technique to receive a sale is totally unacceptable. As i have stated to half price shutters I will take this matter (as did the previous review) to the Dept of Fair Trading and after speaking to various other people on the weekend to the Anti Discrimination board and whoever else will listen. I am appalled and really half price shutters your whole teams "policies" require a review if you think you can and will continue trading.-

They do not leave quotes with customers as this gives them time to think and compare prices. Their prices are heavily over inflated (usually 4x a reasonable price). If you get a quote from them, trust your instinct and tell them immediately to get to the true price. It worked for me and the they thought I myself was in sales.8 months ago

I just tried to arrange a quote for 5 roller shutters. I was asked if I had a husband. I answered yes. They told me they like both parties to be present during the quote. I explained that I work weekends and my husband works during the week. She offered evenings which I turned down as we have young kids and I cant imagine anything worse. Also, it is dark how can they take effeective measurements?? I was informed it was company policy and that I would have to look elsewhere. I am extremely offended as it is exceptionally sexist. I am sure these questions would not have been asked if it was my husband arranging the quote. I will be making a complaint to the department of fair trading and I urge the others to as well. I will also be sending a copy of my receipt after we install shutters from another company so they can see what they missed out on. I can't imagine this company see a lot of business if this is how they treat customers. -

WARNING!!! Do not bother with this company! They are hopeless. I have wasted an entire afternoon waiting for them to turn to do a quote. My husband moved meetings at work to come home to be here for it. I even confirmed it today and it seems they have a habit of just not turning up. And this is when they're supposed to be trying to get your business. Imagine what they'd be like if they actually got the job!! At least you can vent on Truelocal and prevent others from making the same mistake I did. If I could - I'd give them no star. -

You guys are lucky, you got them out to your home. I didn't even make it 2 mins on the phone. They were soooo rude.....said that they had to come to the house to do an exact measurement! OK....but every other company in NSW can do a "rough quote" over the phone for me and then I WILL DECIDE if you are WORTHY to come to MY home and do a FINAL measure. You just lost $$$$$ thousands of dollars worth of work!!! You guys are not the cheapest around, by far. -

it is impossible to get them out to quote if you and your partner are not home.
This is not a luxury my wife and i have it is either one or the other.
so i asked for an approx price and gave them the measurements on the window
i want done.
they gave me the most ridiculous price i have seen so far i still cant figure out how they are half price.
would not waste my time with these guys -
I was hoping to get a quote for some plantation shutters.
After a call from the sales person to confirm our appointment I was asked if my husband would be home, which he would be. The appointment was for Saturday and unfortunately my husband was unable to make is as he had to work. The sales person rang to confirm again and again i was quizzed about my husband and told that they "would really like husbands to be present so that decisions can be made". I told the person that he would not be home. On the Saturday of the appointment i received a call saying that they could no longer make it as their "children were ill".
A week later i was contacted to make another appointment, which was made for the following week (which would have been today). Yesterday i received another call to confirm todays appointment. While running through the logistics of the appointment (time, place etc) the sales person wanted to know my husbands name (starting to get annoyed now) i let the sales person know that he would not be present and their reply was "oh well we will need to arrange another appointment when he can attend" my response was that he is not able to attend and if they would like my business this is the only time i am available. They told me that if my husband is not able to attend they would have to "let this appointment go as we really need your husband to attend" - I do not know if this is just a ploy to have both parties present so that contracts can be signed (which is what i hope is the case) or this company employs people who were born in the 1800's and believe that women can not make decisions without their husbands!
I will never make an appointment with this company again and suggest that those persons who are after blinds/shutters take their business elsewhere!!! very annoyed -

They failed to turn up to three appointments.
My experience is the same as the other reviewer. I had an appointment and received a call 5 minutes before the agreed time to say the sales person would not be arriving as they were ill.
Although inconvenient, I re booked in a week's time. Guess what, no one turned up.
I called their offices on the next business day and no response. The following day I did receive a return call from the business and the committed to an appointment on the next weekend.
Guess what, no one turned up.
I have no idea whether they are good value or their products are well made. They are unable to perform the most simple of tasks, having a sales person turn up to an appointment.
Do not attempt to do business with this company. -

Beware anyone wishing to even get someone to turn up at an alloted time to even quote on plantation shutters. I made a time late last year for someone to come and walk us through their products and prices with a view to get a full measure and quote. The consultant rang to say he was running early and so could he come 2 hours earlier. I said no as i was leaving work ealry anyway and coming from the City to make our appointed time. Well he didn't turn up and when i rang the company the next day i was told he was sick, and someone would be in touch to arrange another time. No-one called at all. Recently they were promoting themselves in our local shopping centre - where i said i was happy to make another time providing someone turned up - guess what? Of course no-one truned up. I have called 6 times to be told the girl who handles shopping centre promotional bookings isn't in - but she'll call me back. What a joke - the average purchase value for shutters is around $10,000. Hopeless!
