Went for the first time on Father's Day and loved it. Staff were exellent and great service.
They don't promote themselves as a five star restaurant and they don't charge like one. It is very good food, plenty of it and good value. We have already booked in again and booked our work Christmas party there. -

I agree with the first two comments!!!! we had to wait ages for any service and their excuse was we had another person joining the table at a later time so they were waiting for them!! Other people who arrived after us were served way before us. It seemed if you weren't a regular (or maybe part of the family, or friends) you didn't get served. And for the amount we spent, we could have eaten somewhere much nicer.... I'm not going to mention names as that would just plain embarrass them!! Also they cannot add up at all, we nearly walked out with only having to pay for drinks and breads... that's how badly the staff stuffed up!!!!!!!
For how busy they were, they really need to get up to scratch with the rest of the restaurant world in Newcastle.
I really think Verde Luna is WAY too overpriced and not worth wasting your time on!!!!. -

i cant believe you people. the reasturant opened little over a month ago and you are so quick to critisise. give them a change to organise themselves and work out all the problems with staff and organisation in general. after being closed for so long one would expect a few problems to occur along the way. getting used to new systems and having all new staff is a tough thing to overcome. i have been there and seen it for myself and have only one thing to say - beautiful. the reasturant itself is very appealing and all the staff are lovely. the food is magnificent and service is excellent. -

Horrible service, worst I've ever experienced by far. 1 hour is far too long to wait to order a drink, especially when you have to try and find te waitress by yourself because she apparantly can't see the 5 people sitting at the table. Disgusting. -

This place used to be amazing, however after going last night for dinner I will never go back. The food was ok, the pizzas tasted pretty good however the schnitzels were very small serves and the people who had them were left hungry afterwards. The biggest criticism I have of this place was the dodgy service. We waited for over an hour before we were even able to order drinks! We were only able to do that after I hunted down a waitress to take our order. The drinks then took about 20min to come to the table (we only ordered 3 soft drinks which were handed to us in cans without glasses). The garlic bread we ordered seem to go missing and it was only after asking two different people about it that it was delivered to our table. The mains did not all arrive together (two people had nearly finished eating before my main arrived). We also noticed that people who had arrived after us were being served mains before we had even ordered ours. When asked how we enjoyed our meal we said that the food was ok but the wait for it was way too long, to this were rudely told "well that's what happens when it's busy". I was totally unimpressed by the service and I won't bother going there again. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be waiting over an hour for average food . In my honest opinion McDonalds would have been a better choice.-

The place is still amazing, yeah sure they had a few teething problems in the first couple of weeks of opening,but i went went back a second time and it was packed full of people the food was totally amazing especially the veal saltimboca and my husband had pasta carbonara delicious.
The wait staff were great drinks arrived on time and didnt wait any where near an hour and it was literally packed.
I would recommend the Verde Luna to any wanting a great feed, in my opinion if you love the food its worth waiting for. We are definately going back, Jessica, give it another go the teething problems are over its fantastic.....1 year ago
