I am an occasional user of Harry's with slightly unusual 'ordinary' vehicles, including Petrol, diesel and Gas.
They have always been friendly and efficient, and they have delivered what they said they would deliver. They have given me friendly advice on things that need doing and they are happy with me doing my own work, or going elsewhere.
They're always slightly busy, which is a good sign, and they have kept me in the loop on progress, and never spent more without talking to me first.
I'm going to keep going there unless something changes: they're a good, workmanlike crew who charge the going rate and explain what they're doing.
I will start this off by saying that I never take the time to write such reviews, but in this instance I feel so strongly about this place that I can't let it slide. Overall conclusion is stay away! They really don't know what's going on with cars.
Nearly a year ago I took my medium aged BMW to this place for a general service. Immediately afterward I noticed the engine had these flat spots. A couple of months later I lost a cylinder completely. I take it back for them to have a look at. The staff look at the cylinders, and start playing around with the coils. After another one goes kaput under their nose they tells me I "can't drive the car now". A couple of days later I get a call saying I need to change all the coils for 600 bucks. So I do it. Subsequently, the car runs normally albeit still with the flat spot and spitting on low revs.
After months of this and temporary loss of a cylinder again, I decide to take the car to the Rolfe BMW dealer. They call me after a couple of hours and tell me that there were one pronged spark plugs installed during the service, rather than the 4 pronged that my car requires (250 bucks in all). On top of that, they tell me that the back brakes are nearly shot (wren't they supposedly changed during the service?). The car runs sooo sweetly now.
If you want to take a chance with an old clunker, then fine. But do not take any car which is too complex or valuable to them-you will likely regret it.
I can go on with other minor problems, and some significant issues my old partner had too with her car, but hopefully you get the idea....
