This restaurant is situated above and old pub on Elizabeth St, entry from Campbell St. It is a bit of an institution in Sydney, being in the same spot for over 20 years (and the inside decor and look certainly confirms this!) There is a certain amount of "tourist" type feel to the place, and the pictures on the wall indicate it has been a stop-over for more than one Sydney tour over the years.
I dined here on a Saturday night without a booking, and could easily get a table (before 8pm). The menu has a large variety, and of course they specialise in seafood, and in particular crabs (which lie in buckets outside the entry door!).
We ordered the classic Singapore Chilli crab, which the staff recommend based on the number of people dining.. which works out to around 0.8KG to 1KG per person. Bear in mind that the market price is around $85 per KG, and so the total cost can get pricey. Other dishes are quite standard price being $12-18.
Overall, the dishes were tasty and cooked well, without being oily etc. Salt was a little on the high side. Service was fast, and staff very helpful. Staff also offered us "roti" type bread to try, though on further enquiry this wasn't free (always check before accepting "offers"). I recommend people try this place at least once, if they haven't had Singapore chilli / curry crab before.
