Hawleywood's Barber Shop and Shaving Parlor is the kind of joint where you would see old mobsters with their faces covered in hot towels and shaving cream. This is the original, 1940's style shop that specializes in the hot towel, straight razor shaves and the high and tight haircut. You'll receive the cleanest haircut in Sydney while relaxing in what we feel is a man's sanctuary.  


We offer haircuts, shaves, Layrite and No. 9 men's grooming products. Layrite Deluxe Pomade has become a world-wide phenomenon. It is hair grease that holds like wax, and washes out like gel.

    I went in there on a day off looking to treat myself to a nice old school value experience, came back looking so bad I am thinking of not going out to the birthday dinner that I was invited to.

    On par with the worst experience I have had in grooming. I got a straight razor cut and my face looks like it was mauled by a tiger. The staff member must not be able to see very well because I had hairs all over my face that were still there and I kept having to point them out to the staff..in the end I went home and finished the job with a disposable razor.

    There's over 10 nicks and cuts, including one cut which is about 2cm long.. their idea of trimming hair involved literally 4 snips of the scissors..

    Whatever you do, research for better alternatives.. I am too scared to get a straight razor cut again, but if I ever did, I would avoid this place.

    This place was amazing. As a non hipster i was a little nervous entering, however i walked in, was greeted, seated and had my hair styled and cut. These gents are professional, friendly and very skilled. Highly recommend it.

    Have no idea why there are negative reviews for this place. Lovely relaxed environment, really chill guys, really good haircuts. Simple. Never had a problem and I always look forward to getting a cut!

    I've been getting my hair cut here for almost two years; these guys are classic barbers in the best way and I can't stress this enough. Everytime I've been here I've left feeling a million bucks. Go here if you want a great high and tight haircut and you cant go wrong. Don't go here if you're not after a classic/rockabilly haircut.

    Great guys but terrible hair cut. He didn't listen to what i asked for. He did a horrible job blending in the sides which looks patchy. He left lots long strands of hair throughout the shaved sides around the ears and along the part. Going to wait 2wks and go to a different hair dresser to fix the blend and trim all the bits he missed.
    Sorry guys but had to say something.

      Thanks for your review. I don't feel so bad now. Wanted a retro cut, but was turned away this morning- said they only do men's hair. I just wanted a haircut.
