    Dear Sir/Madam
I cant stress how disappointed I was to receive my final account with the additional charges for the cleaning and Admin Fee $192.50 equal to 146.00
I was stopped by the police on my approach to Mt Hotham due to the out of control bushfire, and directed back to Bright, 20k from bright I run into a lot of airborne ash and thick smoke, again I was stopped by the police and directed to a roadside lay-by to allow for emergence vehicles to pass through the thick smoke and ash on route up Mt Hotham, I then made my way with a number of others back to Bright, and remained there for 2 nights, there was still a lot of airborne ash, and strong odour from the near by fire, I had run out of time to travel via Mt Hotham and departed Bright for the Airport, on filling the car with fuel I perches a deodoriser as the odour of the fire was still evident in the car, I did apologise to you man at the airport and pointed out I had a close call with a bushfire, he told me I might get a charge for smoking in the car, I did express to him that I am a non smoker, and joked with him that if I had lost the car to the bushfire I would end up with no charge as I had paid for maximum cover.
I have used Hertz rentals on all my trips to Melbourne 1998, 2000, 2005, 2012, 2013,
I feel a bit let down this time not only did the fire spoil my trip back to Melbourne but to get hit with the extra charges for something I could do little about, if I could have got back to Frankston a day earlier I would have got the car cleaned out myself.
I will be returning back to Melbourne Jan 2014 to late Feb next year, I would hope to continue to use my status as a Hertz No 1 Gold Club member, this would depend on weather I am treated fairly
    Yours With Respect

I been hiring Hertz cars from Dublin airport for the last 6 years, the Customer Service has always been very poor. 2 weeks ago I hired a car from Hertz at Dublin airport, once again the Customer Service was very poor but this time, they didn't even bother to tell me the hire car returns location had changed, normally it would be block 'C' at the airport, it was relocated to the long term car park about 2 miles from the airport, when I returned the hire car to block 'C' there were no Hertz members of staff there to check my car in, it seems I wasn't alone there were 4 other people like me walking around in a daze trying to find the a member of Hertz car check-in staff, after about 30 Min's of searching without success, I needed to go as my plane was leaving in less that 90 Min's, I handed the keys and paperwork into the Hertz desk at the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport, with all the rushing about I left my Ray Ban sunglasses on the front passenger seat of the hire car, when I realised my error I was boarding the plane. As soon as I got home I phoned Hertz to tell them about my sunglasses, they told me I had nothing to worry about because there check-in staff cleaned and washed the cars before they were re-hired to the next customer and that they would have found the glasses and handed them in to Lost & Found at Dublin Airport. This put my mind at ease, all I had to do now was talk to lost and found. I phoned lost & found who told me they hadn't found my Ray Ban sunglasses and that there staff hadn't handed them in, in fact the staff who cleaned and checked my car told lost & found that there were no sunglasses in the car, I was then told that maybe I had miss-laid them elsewhere and that maybe they were never left in the car to begin with. I have since complained to Hertz.IE I am yet to receive a reply or an explanation from them.... I can assure you I will never hire another car from Hertz ever again, the Customer Service is a disappointment, the staff are not very polite and can be very rude, anyone who is thinking of hiring a car in Ireland steer well clear of Hertz cars at Dublin Airport!

We recently rented a car from Hertz in Melbourne for 1 week the orginal rental agreement was for $277.62 - we upgraded on the spot for an extra $5 per day (total $35.00). The total cost being $312.62. HERTZ charged our credit card $691.46 12 DAYS LATER AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A REFUND OF THE OVERCHARGED AMOUNT!!!!! Do not recommend using this company :(
