Reviews of Holiday Inn Darling Harbour

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's right at Chinatown, opposite the Sydney Entertainment Centre and within walking distance of Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay. So there's lots of good things nearby. Rooms are standard, usually well maintained and clean. There's not much of a view though. Bathrooms are okay, with good shower and decent towels. Fitness centre is good and the breakfast buffet is good too. Service is friendly, professional and attentive on the whole. #reviewtowin

Nice clean hotel - staff were generally quite friendly. Also great location! Walking distance to the Chinatown mall and amazing food
  • Service was really great. We wanted to do something in the city and they asked what we liked, budget and recommended us a great place. Was exactly what I wanted!
  • Really nice location. Rooms are nice as well. Staff is very helpful but could be a little more friendly.
  • It's really a hotel which won't blow you away but is not bad either. Rooms were fine but could be cleaner, staff was helpful but not in for a nice chat.. Reasonable price but would't recommend it.
  • not a bad hotel,nice and clean :)
  • stayed here over the weekend, pretty good service :)
  • We were given a room on the 3rd floor across the alley from a Chinese restaurant. Our view was of a sweaty chef preparing food in a dirty kitchen. The exhaust from the kitchen made our room smell like rancid cooking grease. We immediately requested a room change but were told we had to spend at least 1 night in our room. As it was 9pm and we were exhausted from travel, we had no choice. The next morning, we called the front desk to request the room change. We were told the hotel was fully booked and they could not move us. Then we asked about getting a refund on our prepaid room for the remaining 2 nights, and suddenly they found a room on the 11th floor for us. They are constantly short staffed so we spent a lot of time waiting in the lobby to talk to front desk and/or concierge.
  • Stayed there recently, was surprised at the comfort of the place, the service was great
  • This hotel has just been through an expansion with some great executive rooms on the top floor being added. Not really a views hotel, its RIGHT opposite the entertainment centre (they share parking in fact) and centrally located for just about everything. Extremely busy, this hotel is a great place to stay on a reasonable budget. They are also about to go through a full refurb which is something to look out for
