Their practice may appear humble, but don't be fooled - Dr Howell and his posse are top-notch optometrists. My family have been seeing them for years, and they've been consistently competent and caring. Dr Howell is a leading researcher in optometry, and his office is kitted out with the latest technology for objectively measuring vision problems; there's even a special machine for inspecting the health of clients' retinas. On the down side, there may be a wait for an appointment with him, but fortunately his colleagues are also highly experienced, internationally prominent optometrists. As a consequence of such expertise, I might add, clients who loathe multifocals (as I do) will have to be vehement in refusing them. The practice stocks a decent array of spectacle frames to choose from, at prices ranging from the reasonable to the astronomical, and the reception staff are consistently friendly, helpful and patient with those who need time to browse. Frames can be adjusted (and if possible, repaired) on-site, and for those who prefer contact lenses, there's always someone around to provide calm, thorough, one-on-one lessons in how to use them. I am a loyal patient/client/customer, and wholeheartedly recommend Howell et al. as expert optometrists.
