    I visited Il Centro for a birthday dinner with a friend.

    The service was excellent, the food and wine was excellent with a no fuss simple and tasty menu, I loved the meatballs mmmm.

    Every part of the process from booking to paying the bill was easy, something that is important when you want to enjoy the evening.

    Whilst it's not cheap I felt it was worth the money for a special meal for my friends birthday.

    Recommended.

    I refuse to support greedy restaurant owners who can seat four adults for a three course meal at a square table measuring 900x900. This is not my idea of quality dinning.

    Disappointing Service. We have regularly frequented this fabulous restaurant (over the last 6 years) for romantic events, work functions and family occasions, and each time our expectations were truly met. Sad to say this Saturday the service was disappointing. We were taken to our tables and asked if we wanted water. We responded yes and I asked for a scotch. The host did not even ask my wife if she wanted any drink also. After finally getting our orders taken, the side plates were removed and a pepper shaker was left for self service. The meals arrived and were faultless, however the service did not match and no comment to enjoy and at no stage did any staff come to check on our table. We expect a lot better from such a fine establishment - and for 7.00pm booking the place was not even busy so the disappointing service really was inexcusable.

    Really great food and professional service. I really enjoyed my experience here. Perfect for a small group of friends catching up. Save this place for a special occasion. Very good position in the city and easy access. Lots of parking around too which helps a lot!

    Wow! Love the food especially the sand crab lasagna. Service is fantastic and the atmosphere is buzzing. Great location, you can have a romantic stroll along the boardwalk to walk off the meal after dinner. Absolutely beautiful.

    Il Centro is one of Brisbane’s most consistent and popular restaurants, offering a choice of casual alfresco dining and a more formal indoor experience in a prime position with views to the river and Story Bridge. Integral to Il Centro’s success is the commitment of owners Andy and Marcia Georges, and service that reflects their care and attention to detail. Long-standing chef Romain Bapst oversees the busy open kitchen, and while the menu changes every three months, the famous sandcrab lasagne with creamed crustacean sauce is a permanent feature. Andy takes particular care with choosing the wine list, which traverses the country and takes in some interesting labels from other shores. Mains average: $35.
