European sophistication, a charming basement location, relaxed atmosphere and great Italian food make for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is divided into two dining areas, the informal bistro area at the front or the more formal 'stay a while' area towards the back. The bistro has a blackboard menu offering good pastas, soups, and salads with the dining area offering an á là carte menu with the likes of steak, fish, and veal dishes. Great cake and dessert selection and the coffee is excellent too.

My husband works at 101 Collins and we often pop in here for a penne, the penne ragu is to die for. Plus the calamari for entre is fantastic. They have recently renovated and thank god there is a bit more space, it was tight before!

Overpriced and overrated. We dined with family visiting from interstate and wanted to give them a true Melbourne dining experience. The service was attentive and good, but often arrogant. The wines are overpriced. 2 of us enjoyed our meals but my meal was shocking. I had the pasta with potato, prosciutto and chilli. The pasta was rubbery and the meals lacked the true Italian fresh flavour and hand made pasta that I was expecting. Another one of our party had the steak and for $40 he was left disappointed with a chewy and below average meal. When told this to the waiter about both meals we received no apology, and we soon felt unwelcome and left to have dessert elsewhere.

As Tina Tina Turner once said, "simply the best"

Great city restaurant for either a quick casual dinner or a more formal meal. My husband and I eat eat quite often and have never been disappointed with the food and service. The pastas are great and the more formal food in the restauarnt is superb. Suggest you book for the restarant but could just pop into the bar.

A great restaurant for either a casual meal in the front bar or a more formal meal at the back. The pasta is amazing, simple but extra tasty. The formal restaurant has some beautiful dishes and is reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food.
