We stayed there on the weekend for probably the 10th time over a 17 year period and it's always a lovely experience. I was however disappointed that we weren't given the room I had specifically requested. We're priorty club members so I put in a request for a room on a high floor and with a north facing bed, so that we could take advantage of the view of the harbour, but we were given a lower floor room with a south facing bed. Other than that everything about our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The room service was excellent, the room was lovely and the view was spectacular. I must admit though that it's expensive, but so is the majority of city accommodation.

We will be going back to stay again for sure, but this time I will be sure to triple check that my requests are fullfilled!

Absolutely amazing hotel and great service. All the staff from the front desk were so helpful. Beautiful view from our room, too.

This is one of my favourite hotels to stay at within the city. The staff are very helpful, check in was a breeze and they sent up a complimentary bottle of red wine for my Mum's birthday. We loved the Club floor with the impressive views and tasty starters. Cafe Opera was very enjoyable for breakfast however the seafood buffet at dinner was dissappointing. The food was luke warm and lacked in taste/flavour. This really surprised me! I enjoyed my stay though and also liked sitting in the "Cortile" cafe on the ground floor. I would like to return to the Cortile to try their brunch and bubbles menu.

Stayed at The Intercontinental twice this year, it has an imposing yet welcoming atmosphere in the lobby and bar areas, the staff a very friendly and helpful
The rooms a quite modern and spacious - do whatever you can to get upgraded to a habourside view room - I didnt want to close my eyes as I watched the harbour lights from bed - one of the best views in the world IMO
Great Gym and pool on the top floor with incredible vistas from the rocks to the heads
Treat yourself at least once to the buffet breakfast and lunch at Cafe Opera - worth every penny just lashing of exquisite food - bring your appetite

I have been here a few times, Staying a few times and the others just visiting friends when they stayed. Everytime i have been equally impressed. Easilly one of the best hotels in Sydney, its no wonder all the celebrities stay here. If you can afford or are lucky enough to get an upgrade to one of the suites you will enjoy the access of club intercontinental which is the rooftop restaurant and bar that offeres complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, drinks etc with one of Sydneys best views, overlooking the Botanical Gardens and Sydney Harbour. The rooms for a city hotel are large and always extremely clean. Staff are always friendly and smile. The only negative i have to say about the most recent visit is that when our taxi arrived to our hotel, no one opened our door or helped us with our bags which is a standard for a 5 star hotel. Other than that its a great place to stay in Sydney.

We have been to the restaurant many times and have had fantastic service and meals. We dropped in for a coffee and snack. We chose a seat up the back in the coffee lounge and were presented with our menu and had the coffee ordered and delivered rather quickly. We felt we wanted to order some light snacks from the menu however though there were quite a number of staff about they never once came back to us, mainly staying about the bar area. This was very disappointing so we decided to leave after about twenty minutes and only then did a waiter approach us, we told him we had wanted to order but had been ignored so were leaving. This is a disappointing attitude of the staff in many hotels now days, they are either pestering you or totally ignore you. What happened to good old service?

  • InterContinental Sydney High Tea Affair

    Ultimate Sydney

In the heart of the historic Treasury building is the elegant Cortile Lounge – the perfect place for High Tea. Here, old world glamour meets cutting-edge culinary creations. Chocolate mousse is dusted with gold leaf and fruit tarts are piled impossibly high. The pretty pastries are too good to pass up until you spy waffles with fresh cream and strawberries on the menu too. The best part is the lengthy tea list. A wonderful tea master will give you tips on choosing the best tisane to suit your taste. Recommended is the black vanilla tea, ultimately delicious. A glass of bubbles on the side is an extra pleasure and is included in the package…
