I was involved in a pretty bad car accident on July 3rd of this year called the manager of J Thomas & Son to see if he could unlock the gates for the tow truck driver to take my car out there as that is where I requested for my car to be towed there the manager was there within a matter of 5 minutes. As soon as my car was assessed and authorised the manager got the parts ordered straight away and got the contract panel beater straight onto the repairs he warned me that it would probably be 4 weeks before I got my car back the receptionist kept me updated regularly. There was a hold up on a few parts as some were ex-Japan. Surprisingly I had my car back within a matter of 2 and a half weeks I couldn't have asked for a better Panel beaters Shop to repair my vehicle I am very happy with the finishing result as it looks just like it did before the accident. Thanks all staff of J Thomas & Son :)
Booked in to get my car fixed approximately 5 weeks ago. Arranged for the repairs to be done on the second week of the school holidays as they said they would need my car for a couple of days. So Monday 5th July was booked, with my understanding that i would get my car back on mid-morning Wednesday. So i dropped my car off on the monday and they told me to give them a call Tuesday - as a progress report. When I rang Tuesday they said that they had ordered/been given the wrong part and my car mostly likely wouldnt be ready on the Wednesday mid morning but possibly in the afternoon. They had rung the dealership for the part and it was enroute. So rung on the Wednesday and the part hadnt come in. They then told me that they didnt order the part until that monday when I came in, just in case I didnt show and if they ordered parts in advance, they had to return them within three weeks, or they wouldn;t get their money back. The problem is I had been checking with them every two weeks, as requested by them, to make sure that the repair was able to be done. So Wednesday arvo, when i ring i am told the part hasnt come in, so maybe THursday. I asked if i could just have my car back, and they could ring me when the part came in, and i would take my car to be repaired then. They said no i couldnt have my car, because it was stripped down and lying in pieces. No they wouldn't/couldt provide me with transport becuase it really isnt their problem. So Thursday I ring, and the part hasnt arrived yet, but it might arrive Friday, in which case I can give them a call Friday arfternoon. They also then gave me the number for Ipswich motors ho apparantly were supplying them with the part. So today I ring them at 2.34pm and they tell me 1. that they are closed, 2. that my car is ready and 3. that they phoned my mobile phone at 11.30am Okay - the closed thing - on the card i have and on the website it is advertised that they are open until 5.30pm on a Friday. A little different from the 2.30pm that i was told on the phone. The receptionist did say i could collect my car on Monday as they are open at 7.30am. I am so annoyed, i have to start back at work on Monday and how do I get there without a car? I will have to rearrange my schedule and that of my sisters so that i can get my car back, and go to work. The whole point of me having the car fixed in the holidays was to avoid any issues with work, and that is exactly what it has done. Secondly they were the ones whom asked me to ring on Friday arvo - why didnt they just say yesterday to ring early or maybe evn mentioning that they were shut on Friday afternoon. THey are not open on the weekend either. As for the phone call - that is complete and utter garbage - i received one phone call that was a missed call today at 12.32pm from a friend wanting to know how the whole car situation was going. I have put in a complaint to my insurance as they were the ones who recommended this service.
