A 400-gram rib eye steak, still attached to its bone, drizzled in pepper sauce and accompanied by a vegetable medley of mash, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and zuchini. Tender and juicy meat. The creamiest and smoothest mash potato. This was Ma Duggans Kitchen award winning steak dish - the Riverena Tomahawk ($30). I highly rate it!
If steak is not your thing, the menu has other Irish offerings such the steak and Guinness pot pie. There is also a kid's menu, as well as gluten free and vegetarian options. I recommend giving the salt roasted pork belly ($27) a miss. The crackling was crunchy but the pork was too dry.
The dessert menu is limited to 3 blackboard specials. I tried the peanut butter ice cream pie with chocolate fudge sauce. I enjoyed the nutty texture but wished it had more of a peanut butter flavor. It was not too sweet and nicely complimented by the chocolate fudge sauce. The side serving of fruit was disappointingly more ornamental than edible.
Service was friendly and efficient. Only cash is accepted, with an ATM situated at the entrance.
Though not a pub grub fan, I will definitely return to Ma Duggans Kitchen for the steak.
