With the many nice surprises along the way, many dishes are familiar enough - vindaloo, butter chicken, korma. Jasmin simply does them better, with first-rate ingredients, spicing that sparkles and nuances that bring excitement to the familiar. The mixed plate has one of each of the five listed starters, with a high point being a delicious samosa.. A skewer of fish chunks and a potato patty are also delicious. Mains from the specials list include Punjabi lamb tandoori - five french cutlets with a red-brown coating from a yoghurt-based marinade - and a potato dish cooked in a sauce based on dried fish

I've never associated Indian restaurants and fine dining before but this one has changed my mind. As you walk down the stairs to this underground restaurant you see the charming dining room, with rosewood tables and cloth napkins. Perfect for groups of friends or romantic dining. The staff are all helpful and pleasant and we never felt rushed or ignored.
But the real treat here is the food. It is wonderful. Mrs Singh has managed to turn Indian food into a gourmet experience. From the naan stuffed with blue cheese and topped with a chutney sauce for a starter, to the plate of mixed entrees with the the most melt in your mouth samosas I've ever eaten, to the Fried fish with Dahl and Beef Vindaloo for mains it was a mouth-watering experience. I should warn you though, I like hot food, but the Vindaloo defeated me after a few mouthfuls.
I thought the pricing was good for what you got, after all it is an upmarket restaurant, and I thought the meal sizes were good too. Neither of us were hungry when we left.

Jasmin is an excellent restaurant. The first time, I went here was to collect take away dinner and must admit that I was a little underwhelmed with the small-size portions. But, this was made up by the excellent taste and quality of the food. I was very impressed, also by the containers in which the food containers...."made in Australia". It has also a very varied vegetarian menu and so if you do not meat, there is plenty of other dishes to choose from. It is a little disappointing that they do not have goat meat on the menu.

An Indian Restaurant should atleast have something vegetarian on the menu considering that India is a vegetarian country. The restaurant fails in that respect. As there was no food for me, I left. This is not an authentic style Indian Restaurant. This should be apparent where the focus is on Beef.

We felt that while the food was tasty it missed the wow factor that supported the $23.50 cost per curry. Atmosphere was lovely however was very cold due to the cold rainy night and air con still going in the small dining room. Service was ok however as there was only one person to look after our room seemed a bit strained at times. Overall a little bit too expensive for what is received.

People swear by this place and I'm one of them. It has great service and beautiful indian food. I've known people to have serious arguments with anyone who says that this is not the best indian place in Adelaide ... I don't know I'd go that far but definately worth a visit!!

This place is an Adelaide icon. it's been serving great Indian food forever. However, it's one of the few long lasting places where the quality hasn't changed, it's always good. Definitely worth a visit.

One of Adelaide's best Indian restaurants and definitely a special place to take a loved one or valued client. Open for both lunch and dinner, the surroundings, food and service make for a very pleasant meal.

The menu options are outstanding with a great variety of dishes plus the house specials are always excellent for a bit of variation.

Good quality wine list available. Highly recommended.

Absolutely, totally, without a doubt the best Indian cuisine in SA (and possibly Australia). Gorgeous atmosphere underground with beautiful lighting and Tom Gleghorn paintings, quiet and confident service, a great wine list and FAB food. The Palak Paneer is amazing and the fried fish with dahl is to die for. A MUST MUST MUST!
