Reviews of Jewel On The Bay
Fantastic Indian Food.
This cafe covers all bases with a solid breakfast and lunch offering, and then turns into a lovely Indian restaurant in the evening.
They also do take away.
Beautiful inside decor and some undercover outside tables so you look out at the water across the road by Rose Bay pier.
Really good food, very tasty and full of flavour. All classic dishes cooked very well..... Beautiful setting too, looking over the bay. Extremely busy always, so obviously the combination of good food and good prices works well..... The staff were very friendly and as I am 7 months pregnant they asked if I was comfortable enough which I thought was very nice....
Cute location overlooking Rose Bay, complemented with extremely authentic cuisine. This Italian gem's decor and serving dishes directly reflects it's authenticity. The staff are friendly and the menu is extensive, offering everything from your standard butter chicken (yummo) to Chef specials. It's BYO so seems to be a big crowd pleaser, groups walked in after each other looking pretty happy to be there. Takeaway also an option. We opted for budget wine on this particular evening, and found it to be pretty friendly to the palate. Great value for money, great spot.
You can always tell a good restaurant by how busy it is. That's why when we walked past Jewel on the Bay recently, we couldn't stop ourselves from walking in... The place was packed to the rafters!
A group of four in front of us actually got turned away as there were no tables left for a group that size. Luckily we were only a two and squeezed into the last spare table!
The service was pretty standard... nothing to write home about! But the food is where this place really blows you away!
It's got some really basic dishes which have been seen on indian restaurant menus for years. But then it's got some new exciting dishes which will set your taste-buds on fire!
The view over Rose Bay is great! Although it would be outstanding if there was an upstairs to admire it from! Maybe one day!
A local treasure that does the basics well and modern indian even better!
