Home of the famous 'Jimmy Watson's Trophy'

Generations of experience make the award-winning Jimmy Watson's a unique place for lunch, dinner or all-day bar snacks. Enjoy these in the downstairs dining room, delightful garden courtyard or rooms upstairs for eight to 30 people for private or corporate use. 

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and makes for the perfect meeting place whether it be for business or pleasure. 

Now leased by Slobodan Krunic, Chef Clinton Raft's menu features modern Mediterranean style dishes using fresh local produce and runs from Tuesday to Saturday lunch and dinner with a relaxed menu running on Mondays by the Watson Family.

Rare vintage and very interesting wines are a feature of the wine list at the home of the Jimmy Watson Trophy.

    This is an excellent restaurant with extremely friendly and generous staff. The food is exceptional. Excellent vintage wine and beautiful tapas style meals. Of course, you pay for quality and thats what it is all about. Upstairs there are a number of beautiful rustic rooms to try for a private function. Absolutely the best restaurant on Lygon Street for sure. If you want a big meal, try their arancini style dishes as a starter. Sample their esquisite wines and then dig into main course. Another interesting feature is the building itself which is an Arthur Boyd design and has a lofty feel to it to add to a nice atmosphere. I personally like coming here for lunch as there is a beautiful vibe to the surroundings, however you could equally come here at night and be just as satisfied.

    The seafood was frozen, not fresh, and the waiter chipped the rim of the wine bottle without realizing. I was halfway through a glass when I realized.

    Jimmy Watson's is an institution in inner city dining. This restaurant/bar has been here for 70 or so years. Nice. I eat here roughly once a month and have never had a bad experience. beautiful food great wine menu...definaetely reccommend!

    My girlfriends and I were looking for a place to have a quiet drink before going to the movies at the weekend. We stumbled across Jimmy Watsons and were surprised to find such a quaint wine bar in busy restaurant-filled Lygon St. They have a fantastic selection of wines and we decided to go back for dinner after the movie!
