Great food and even better wine list. Tables a little close together almost feels like you are sitting with the people next to you. That's the only disappointment about Joseph's.

breakfast at Joseph's was a disappointingly standard experience. Now perhaps my expectations were to blame for the relatively poor rating but having done my research, I was anticipating something different for breakfast. It's your standard buffet, bain marie fare - scrambled eggs, inconsistently cooked bacon, chipolata sized but not flavoured sausages, various breads. I must admit the bircher muesli & the pastries were good, but they weren't enough to address my expectation shortfall. It's good for breakfast...it's just not different or great.

set within the Mansion Hotel which is set amidst the lovely expanse of the Werribee Mansion region, Joseph's is a little pocket of opulence & style within the West. We stayed over a weekend at the hotel on an Indulgence Package that included a 3 course meal at Joseph's. It's small & intimate with attentive & respectful staff...without being over the top posh. The menu was small but each dish sounded fantastic, so despite the small size we still took our time deciding. It's rare that all 3 courses in a "set" menu stand out...but Joseph's achieved this, all 3 were tasty, well presented & used quality produce. The standouts were the steak & the dessert...I'm salivating just thinking about them. The steak was tender, perfectly flavoured & served with complimentary sides that extended the palate. The dessert was sweet, complex & oh so good! Joseph's is a true gem in the West.

This was my favorite restaurant when it was owned by the sofitel, it has changed hands and have been There only once since, they seem to be keeping the standard up though. It has the most beautiful setting with great service and quality food.

I love the Werribee Mansions nestled in the heart of the Victorian countryside. The majestic building overlooks the fantastic gardens and hidden inside the historical house is the wonderful Josephs Restaurant. With a 5 star menu and a choice of wines that could only be surpassed by the french, accompanied by George the Somalier who has an unquestionable and extensive knowledge of what wine to drink with the menu. In summary a total panache for all the senses and one to be embraced.
